Yes, that is Rope. The two students are just friends, though; they're not gay.

Rope is one of my favourite Hitch films. I also like Psycho, Marnie, Rebecca, Frenzy, Vertigo, The Birds and The Trouble with Harry.

Yes and no.

The plot of -Rope- was, to some extent, a re-enactment of the Leopold-Loeb murder of Bobby Frank during the 30's. In the real live case there was a homosexual element at work, but it was probably repressed homosexuality. One dominated the other.
