You've seen Class of 1984 I take it? That's cheesy fun for the most part.

The Girl Next Door.

It's a movie about a woman who is in charge of a couple of girls after their parents die. She ties them in the cellar and lets all the neighborhood boys rape and torture them to death.

Capitalism, A Love Story.

The arrogance and avarice of the whole banking industry. I shudder just thinking about it.

Red to Kill is pretty horrorific especially the shower scene. If you like Chinese horror films try Dr. Lamb, The Untold Story, and Daughter of Darkness. I also have to add Necromantic I & II.

I've seen Daughter of Darkness and Daughter of Darkness 2. Oh, and Brother of Darkness.

Lily Chung seems to have spent a good deal of the early 1990s being raped on screen.

But the most disturbing of them all has to be "Fantastic Planet." I doubt most of you have heard it... It's a really old Sci-Fi cartoon about a group of blantantly naked humans trying to rebel against a world filled with giant aliens that use them as pet or cattle. I had to watch this movie at age 6 with my family...

The film was original French but damn was it creepy. People who say Clockwork Orange was a weird movie should definitely watch this one...

I have that one on DVD. The animation is lovely.

There was a girl I went to school with that would have seizures if she watched that animated film. I guess it was the movement or animation style that would set her off. It was my only reason for watching it to see what the hype was about.

Oh, I'd forgotten Manchurian Candidate! That one's disturbing because it's so plausible. It gives you a whole new perspective on the political assassinations that immediately followed it's release: JFK, RFK, MLK...

I liked Freaks, but that did remind me of Eraserhead and Videodrome, both of which were strange and disconcerting.

Carpenter's The Thing may not have aged well into the era of CGI, but it was quite disturbing when it came out. I still like it just for the tension and the dramatic performances, Kurt Russell is awesome.

When I see Dead and Buried now, the ending seems ridiculously obvious, but the first time I watched it, I wasn't trying to second guess the script, so it caught me off guard and that was kinda weird. Now that I think about it, it sort of presaged the ending of The Sixth Sense by a couple of decades.

Along those same lines (although it's far less plausible) I found John Carpenter's They Live! very disturbing.
