Of the ones you mentioned, I'm interested in the Sorcerer's Apprentice and Despicable Me. I'm not interested in Toy Story 3 as I thought the first 2 were kinda boring.

BORING! *sigh* yet another person who doesn't have the intelligence to appreciate good film...

I admire it's technical merits at the time and still do. However, the story, which is by far the most important part of any film (well, except slap stick comedies) just isn't that good. It tries to be all things and just doesn't succeed. The drama it has isn't interesting enough to make up for the lack of humor. The humor it has (and it does have some) isn't strong enough to make up for the lack of drama. Most of the characters aren't very interesting so it's hard to make an emotional connection to them. Granted, they are just toys, but still.

Why don't you try watching it again as you were obviously much too young to enjoy the film the one and only time you probably saw it as a young child.

Why do you hate anime?

Uhm...Speed Racer...Pokemon...

Stories with not an ounce of substance, but lots of "Aah! Ooh! Unh! Gasp!" and stupid psuedo-fantasy plots with holes the size of galaxies...

C'mon, Godzilla movies are more entertaining than that elementary schoolgirl nonsense.

If you're over six years old and male, and watching Anime, there's something seriously wrong with your mental development that goes way beyond AS.

Even I lost interest in Astro Boy after preschool. Anime's not just stupid - is effeminately stupid...Its marketed for (young) Japanese girls.

For gods' sakes, compare the best Anime ever made with Lord of the Rings and see if it doesn't seem infinitely puerile. If you're watching Anime beyond age 8 you're probably still not able to wipe your own butt.

You are an absolute idiot. You are judging two anime series that were aimed at children to every single one ever? You want intricate plots go out and rent Akira which is considered not only one of the greatest Science Fiction films ever made (By US critics) but one of the greatest films of all time. Not all anime is like the ones you were talking about. I could easily say every single American movie is full of fart and poop jokes but that would be incorrect to say that. How about you NOT judge a book by it's cover.

So, basically, you don't like children's anime. Why not just say that instead? It's clear you have limited experience.

Anime is an all-encompassing phrase that refers to all Japanese animation (and, technically, non-Japanese animation as well). You judging it all based upon a piece of s**t like "Pokemon" is as moronic as reading "Twilight" and deciding that all books are terribly-written dross for tweenage girls. It's as stupid as if you bought "Barbie Horse Adventures" and decided, on the strength of that experience, that all video games are terrible. It's like you swearing off all music based on a listen of Miley Cyrus. My god, you sound like an absolute imbecile!

Visionaries like Hayao Miyazaki are widely acknowledged by all animators, from both East and West, as being creative and influentual geniuses. Much of John Lasseter's success with Pixar and Disney has been due to his admiration of Studio Ghibli and his adherence to similar values as Miyazaki. Likewise, animes like Akira and Ghost in the Shell have had so much influence on the development of cyberpunk and other related genres that there would, for example, be no Matrix movies without them.
