It may not count, but the newer generation hasn't really had a chance to watch it, but id say Outlaw Star.

I've seen it, and from what I've read about other people's opinions on it, it's actually quite highly rated and rather popular, despite how old it is now. Personally, I think it's great, too (why else would I have watched it twice now?)

As for underrated, let's see... I'd have to go with, probably Armitage III. Even older than Outlaw Star, but still a very entertaining and even thought-provoking series of OVAs.

Yeah, Ive gone through Outlaw star about 10 times since it first aired in the US. Ive heard of Armitage, but ive never been able to find the OVAs, cant buy it either since im unemployed.

Dunno how "popular" Kiddy Grade is, but thats another Sci-fi anime I enjoyed.

Well, if you're interested, someone's uploaded it to YouTube. Here's the first part of the first OVA, titled Electro Blood. It's the dubbed version; I don't know if that's OK or not.

Well you all know that i'm going to have to vote for....

The Mysterious Cities of Gold

Ulyees 31

Jayce and the Wheeled Warrors

Yes I know that some may say that thay aren't teconilly Anime (and that they are kids ones at that) but they are underated by many as they (particly in the case of MCoG) are rarely shown nowadays.
