Darths & Droids is an online comic, illustrated with stills from the Star Wars prequels, based on the concept that in their universe, the Star Wars movies never existed, and they're playing a science-fiction role-playing game. It was inspired by the masterpiece DM Of the Rings. It's played for laughs (most of the time, anyway), but still manages to do better character development than the originals. (And they manage to coax better acting out of the photos than the real movies got out of the live actors, too!)

I think this says something about Lucas...

The Lion King 1&1/2. For someone who's special intrests are Lion King, Timon and meerkats, this was a disaster and Di$ney deserves to be b***h slapped for even considering it.

I liked the first Lion King. I think Simba's Pride and 1 1/2 were a waste of time. I liked the first Aladdin, but the sequels not so much. Mostly sequels don't do as well as the original.

"Far away, So Close" - Sequel to "Wings of Desire" by Wim Wenders.

After having made a couple of the best films I had ever seen ("Paris, Texas" and to a lesser extent, "Wings of Desire") Wim Wenders seems to be on a quest to make the worst films imaginable. While I have not seen "City of Angels" the American remake of "Wings of Desire" it certainly can't be any worse than "Far Away, So Close"

It seems to me that Wim Wenders has fallen into the trap of trying to repeat prior successes. Worse yet, he has fallen in love with the convention of the detective chasing the hero throughout the film. Every time he uses this plot device, it further kills whatever interesting story might have come about. "Don't Come Knocking" would have been an okay film if the story had focused in the main character's personal relationships rather than the artificial device of a detective trying to find him and bring him back to the film shoot.

Maybe Wim Wenders will make a good film again, but frankly I don't hold much hope.
