I'd like to live in Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil, which is fairly doable. Savannah doesn't change and I can book a train compartment to arrive there with some dignity. After that, attitude is everything.

Can TV shows count? If so, I nominate Cicely, Alaska (Northern Exposure) and Gloomsville (Ruby Gloom).

LOTR, in Rivendell as a high elf, I also liked the Shire because everyone seemed happy there but I wouldn't want to be a hobbit lol.

But when I read your question I also thought right away of a game I almost felt like I lived in tho, Everquest. I played that game for about 5 years, and I remember how much I liked it, I had so much fun! my first and main character was a dark elf and Neriak was my favorite city (I also had a high elf and Felwithe was pretty nice too), I even dreamed I was a dark elf lol it was such a cool dream. Met a few great people in that game too.

"the crying game"- as the character dil, after the baddies were killed off.
"made in heaven", when the protagonist was in heaven.
"the adding machine", in that heavenly world. you have to see it to understand what i'm talking about here. what a place.
"hedwig and the angry inch", before the angry inch when he was just simply superb hansel. what a dish.
in character mattie ross' world in"true grit," after marshall rooster cogburn dispatches the baddies.
in the future world of doc brown in "B2TF pt. II".
"smokie and the bandit", as the bandit.
the character ellie arroway's world in "contact" when she goes to vega. what a heavenly realm.
the 1986/2286 san francisco world of "star trek IV."
the post-martian mars world of "the martian chronicles."
in the future world of "the visitors."
in danion brinkley's world in "saved by the light."
in the 1979 san francisco depicted in "time after time."
among all the beautiful people in "pinball wizard."
the 1984 san francisco of "electric dreams."

too many others to list here.

By movie world I mean the setting of the movie. The world created by vision of the director and the screenwriters. It can be real or fictitious. It can historical, present day, or future. What movie world would you like to step into as yourself? It does not matter if you are or are not a vital character to the plot of the movie. You can battle horrible monsters or simply enjoy the scenery.

I like Tolkien's Middle Earth. It is enough like our Earth to relate to, but it has some rather unusual happenings. Never a dull moment.

Pottersville... let me see... I suppose the most disturbing thing would be the sight of Violet Bick in a slu*ty evening gown being hauled away for prostitution or being drunk and disorderly... no, wait...

George's mom. Oh, that one gives me the shivers... Even Harry's tombstone barely freaked me out more than that...

Mary was just funny... she said she would have been an old maid. And here's this stinky unshaven giant asking her about rather intimate things... Yikes.

But I admit, I kinda liked Nick.

"Out you two pixies go, t'rough da door or out da window!"

Heh... I wonder what happened to Mario, though... I reckon they didn't hold with foreigners.

Yeah, the people of Bedford Falls could be fairly nauseating at times but given the option, oh, yeah, I think I've made my choice.

in the colorized version of "it's a wonderful life" i thought the alternate reality potterville scenes were pretty [at least with the color turned up to saturated levels]. i'd like to try living someplace with saturated colors. at least for a little while.
