For what its worth I do. But then I'm not diagnosed. Only wondering.

I watch too much tv anyway, so am hardly discrimatary.
And limited by 4 channels.
So its not necessary my first choice of viewing.

However, I have a kid and it fits that slot to relax after they are in bed.
And my habit has definitely got worse/standards lowered in the last few years, since being single, feeling more depressed/ demotivated.

Just watched X-factor with my son, because its a good compromise to watch together.
He definitely knows who he wants to win, I mostly want to keep in the more interesting ones or whoever has covered a song I like.

I watch by myself and from choice/boredom - big brother, the apprentice and I'm a celebrity.
Why?
Maybe because they all involve skills that I am crap at - forming relationships with people, and competing for popularity, that I would like to understand/emulate.
Also it provides some vicarious living.

I have an opinion on who I think is more worthy to win (but don't vote)

Have also watched shows such as wife swap/ super nanny in the past, partly for the insights into family life, but also for the drama of conflict.

(Fairly sure I should not be admitting this)

I like the X Factor. I find it quite entertaining, and the auditions make me laugh. I get into it every year. However, I hate all other reality shows. I think it is just because it's about people getting famous just for having the right sort of outgoing personality to be able to interact with other contestants - something I can't relate to at all and thus have no interest in watching.

I can't help but follow it if it's on in the background but don't like or put it on when alone.

For the most part I loathe reality shows, but I do like certain types of them

I'd divide them into categories as follows...

Talent / Skill competitions - Dancing with the Stars, Top Chef, Project Runway, America's next top model, etc. I admit, I rather like Project Runway - its cool to see all the designs (I otherwise pretty much ignore fashion) and the stresses the competitors go through etc. I also sort of like America's Next Top Model. I sort of got into Dancing With the Stars a little bit this last season, mostly because I was curious to see who would win but I think some people get WAY to into it - I mean, I was curious to see who wins, some people I know seem concerned and caring about who will win, as if it will somehow matter in their lives.

Social / Elimination games - , Big Brother, Survivor, etc. - really find these shows to have no redeeming value - its all scheming, alliances, etc. Couldn't care less.

Shows that exist to feature a celebrity - The Kardashians, Hulk Hogan's show, Paris Hilton's show, The Osbornes, etc. I really don't understand society's (or some segments of society's) fascination with celebrities and their lives. Nor can I understand what the appeal of these shows is - to me they feature mostly contrived situations.

Ditto pretty much for these shows that throw a bunch of unknown people into a house (MTV's Real World, Jersey Shore, etc.) and just watch them interact through a bunch of situations which to me seem mostly contrived. Or similar shows that just follow the lives of a bunch of non-celebrity, random people (The Real Housewives of Orange County / Beverly Hills / Atlanta etc.).

Amazing Race - I'm not sure which category this fits in but I find this show pretty interesting even though in some ways it doesn't quite live up to its own premise - its hard to be a true race when there are checkpoints at the end of each episode that essentially pause the race and allow everyone to catch up (more or less), instead of it being a continuous race.

The prison show "Lockup" on MSNBC qualifies as reality TV, and its by far the best show of that type.

The Amazing Race
So You Think You Can Dance
America's Next Top Model
American Idol (was gonna stop watching this season, but having auditions in my city, so maybe I will see someone I know, but after that, I'm done watching)

Sometimes I watch America's Best Dance Crew

Currently watching The Sing Off

That's about it for reality tv

I use to watch The Amazing Race all the time in its early seasons. It was the only competition reality show I ever got into but eventually the scheduling got screwy and I started to miss seasons until I was finally bored with it.

Now the only reality shows that I have any interest in are info-stuff like on Food Channel and HGTV. I like makeover shows like Kitchen Nightmares. And I will also watch heartwarming reality shows like EMHE, School Pride, and others. To me these are the kind of shows worth watching because they're far more realistic in the human behavior. I hate competition reality shows.

I find reality television to be quite boring. I would much rather read a book.
