I more prefer mangas but yes, i like some anime. I am very picky though (with pretty much anything) and i tend to watch the same few animes over and over. its amazing how people have gone through 100's and im still rewatching the same 4 or 5. i like to fully understand everything in it.

I had an anime kick back when I was in high school and it lasted for several years before it eventually burned out for me.

I don't pay much attention to Anime, but I used to watch Shin Chan on Adult Swim. I thought it was quite funny. And I can remember waking up early before school when I was a kid, because a local channel broadcast the Robotech Macross show at 6:30 AM and Voltron at 7:00 AM.

I tried to watch some Voltron reruns a few years ago, but I couldn't really get into it. The stories are just too repetitive. My childhood memories were better than the reality.

Anime was my 'special interest' for a while, watched it almost exclusively for 3 years. Favourite show was/is Haibane Renmei, worth checking out (unless you like action stuff). I still watch one piece, something about it's childish charm won't let me stop, but other than that I haven't watched anything for a couple of years now. Somehow it seems like the 90s were the best decade for anime, nothing caught my attention since then.

I loved the games. I couldn't stand the art.

I took some Japanese classes so I watched some anime to help learn the language and learned that some of the funniest shows ever made are animes.

The funniest ones I know of are Ping Pong Club and Oruchuban Ebichu. Bad art, minimal storyline, but absolutely hilarious and educational if you want to develop the Japanese you wouldn't learn in class.

I like One Piece (best one ever) and Bleach. I watched some others, but I don't watch them often.

My interest in anime goes up and down throughout the years. I prefer mecha anime, or any science fiction anime, to fantasy anime, and I can't stand most shonen.

I got into anime through Robotech( which is an american mash up of three separate series: Super Dimension Fortress Macross, Super Dimension Cavalry Southern Cross, and Genesis Climber Mospeada) and Gundam Wing playing on Toonami back on the late 90s. I liked both so much I decided to get into the original Macross and its many sequels: Macross II, Macross Plus, Macross:Do you remember love? etc.) as well as Super Dimension Century Orguss.

I also watched the first Ghost in the Shell movie, the two CGI Appleseed movies(the first one released in 2004 and then Ex Machina, which was released in 2007), but never the original animated OAV Appleseed from the late 80s.

I also have a softspot for Gundam and enjoyed G Gundam and Gundam Seed when they aired on Toonami, and always wanted to watch Z Gundam. I heard Gundam 00 comes on Scifi at midnight, but am too lazy to check it out.

Recently, I became something of a Fullmetal Alchemist addict when I began reading the series on One Manga. I normally hate shonen Anime, but this series is just to awesome, its fight scenes are like the fight scenes you find in major action movies and it can be funny from time to time, plus the characters are deep and the story complex, touching on war, genocide,PTSD, and compassion. I came close to finishing the series on One Manga before it shut-down, and now plan on watching Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood on DVD when I get the money.

I sure am!
I read an interesting article about what attracts some of us ASD people to anime, and it made perfect sense. The visual aspect, the honest and expressive characters. My fav animes are Tenchi Muyo, Outlaw Star, Cowboy Bebop, Serial Experiments Lain, Fruits Basket, Inu yasha, Yu Yu Hakusho, Ouran High School Host Club, Princess Mononoke and Honey and Clover.

I agree, they're trying to with Cowboy Bebop and have Keanu Reeves as Spike Spiegel, but they're taking a while because it's become very expensive to make. I haven't seen Ghost in the Shell, but I'm going to. I think Sci-fi animes are the easiest ones to adapt because they're more realistic than most animes as far as how people look and would look more visually appealing than say live action sailor moon lol, and I think most animes are best adapted by Japanese or other Asian film industries becuase it's kind of awkward to have white people playing Japanese people lol.
