I'm so happy "The Simpsons" are staying. I've been celebrating with a weekend Simpsons marathon. :)

They should have killed it off over 10 years ago.
Now it's just a cheap knock off on itself.

I will always love the Simpsons from a nostalgic point of view, but I have to agree with what everyone else has said about it jumping the shark. I have fond memories of watching it when I was a child and it makes me sad when I see a newer episode that doesn't even make me smile.

I watched all seasons of The Simpsons, It will be sad if they go now. I think family Guy is a unfunny, boring show and is not in any way better than The Simpsons.

The Simpsons isn't really funny anymore. I like the older episodes. The new ones are just weird to me.

I love the Simpsons but I think it has definitely "Jumped the shark", it would be a shame if the series was cancelled (it was a big part of my childhood) but I don't find it funny anymore :(

I prefer "Futurama" to the Simpsons, also I think "American Dad" is much better than "Family Guy"

the sad thing about the Simpsons is that it overstayed its welcome so long, that it's been not funny longer now than it has been funny.

So unfortunate for a show that was so revolutionary for its time.

of course, there's only one way they can end the show:

First, Tracy Ullman has to make a guest appearance; face it, she brought the show in, she has to take it out.

Second, it has to end with the screen panning out with all the characters on the screen, and Matt Groening suddenly waking up in bed with the caption "1987" at the bottom of the screen with him suddenly getting on the phone and saying "I finally figured out the perfect idea for that new show!"

Think about it 8)

Simpsons should have called it quits 10 years ago, though the movie was good.

agreed

And I know people are complaining that Fox won't have anything better to air. Well, does everyone forget that TV isn't exactly pulling in the ratings it used to, anyway?

Most TV shows/sitcoms svck nowadays. I long for the days of Married With Children/Seinfeld/Frasier/Cheers/X-Files/Beavis and Butthead (the original)/Ren and Stimpy (the original)/Simpsons in the 90s.

Well of course they do: when most of the audience has been lost, there's no reason to put any creativity into new shoes being produced.

Tell ya what: go on Youtube, and hit up the two-part Diff'rent Strokes storyarc The Bicycle Man starring Gordon Jump. You will feel dirty just watching it, his performance is so creepy. Well that was in '82; there was an audience back then. They knew they could push the envelope cause they had viewers. They don't now. So there's no point, except for our parents' generation.

Um...Married With Children, really? Have you even tried watching that show again?

I have a recommendation: go on Youtube, and check out a show called Star-Ving; it features David Faustino and Corin Nemec. It's everything Married with Children could've been if it were uncensored and...y'know, actually funny.

Whenever The Simpsons finally gets cancelled, I'm pretty sure the series finale episode is gonna be awesome!

I hope before The Simpsons is though, characters from the other FOX cartoons make cameo appearances on The Simpsons or vice vercea.

I know Homer been on Family Guy once, but he only said his vintage "D'OH!" line and that was it.

I remember the Characters from Family Guy went to visit the character from the Cleveland show, to see something like that with The Simpsons would be pretty cool. :)
