So, David Tennat comes out on top, with Matt Smith being the next most popular Doctor, and Tom Baker third.

A disappointing result. I thought that a classic Doctor, Tom Baker in all likelihood, would have gotten second place at least. :(

I didn't watch it loads when growing up but it was always something i watched now and then. Ninth (Christopher Eccleston) is my favorite because it was him that made me sit up and finally say i actually liked the show.

Disappointed with the poll, I have to admit. Tennant's Doctor turned into such a hammy, scenery-chewing clown. I don't understand his appeal, especially for Aspies. His first series was good, but it just got increasingly painful after that, as Davies manipulated the 10th Doctor into a pathetic fop. Tennant's a good ensemble actor, but he sucks as a lead. He all but ruined Hamlet too, and I was actually thinking he could pull that off. My bad.

My fav used to be Eccleston, but Matt Smith's blown him away. Matt's got real acting chops and can smoothly play all the shades of the Doctor without being the contemptible, manic clown like Tennant was. Plus Moffatt, despite my quibbles over his writing, has salvaged the Doctor from Davies' fan-hating butchery and made him a character worth caring about again. My third fav would be Troughton, the 2nd doctor.

I might have to give Matt Smith a second chance, i completely agree with you on tennant, even the part where you said his first series was ok but he changed. It was the second series of tennant that stopped me watching and then i never really gave Smith a good chance. It's be awesome to find that Smith is actually good, that'd give me a whole load of stuff to catch up with.

Haven't you ever watched Tom Baker act? He's so hammy, you could stock a butcher's shop. :P

Baker first, Pertwee second, Hartnell third. Can't say I liked any of them after Baker.

Yeah, but still. I just... like Tennant. I liked Jenny even more, Action Girl? Blonde? MEGUSTA.

I had to vote for David Tennant in the end, although I shall say that I very much like Matt Smith. I loved the eccentricity of the old Doctors that Tennant brought to the series but the dark sinister edge that Matt Smith brings does lend itself to being more 'timelord-esque'. The only thing I don't like about Matt Smith is that the series has been just as much about Amy, Rory and Melody Pond/River Song as him, whereas Tennant went through Rose, Donna & Martha.

Random titbit here. Dr Who is filmed in Cardiff where I live! Best of all is that scenes are often filmed in the University including my school. Nothing like seeing the Tardis and a Dalek before lectures!

Awesome! I live near L.A. and yet I can't think of a thing they film around here that could possibly be cooler than that... :D

Tom Baker for me. But I can't be impartial because he introduced me to Doctor Who.
I actually really love all them except for Colin Baker and Sylvester Mc Coy. but it isn't their fault. They was stuck with a horrible producer, horrible writers, horrible companion (Mel), usually horrible directors. Everything else I've seen them in, like Blakes 7 with Colin Baker, he was really good in.
