Well, I think it's safe to say Rick will probably live to the end of the series.

I wanna bet Daryl and Carl will too. The former, being the most popular character on the show.

Daryl's certainly my favorite character. 8)

I'm not keen on what they've done with Daryl. I liked him better when he was the semi-wild outsider, making necklaces out of human ears.

This show is all the chat around work. I got quite the kick telling everyone that George Romero called it a "soap opera with zombies." As far as I'm concerned, the man invented the genre and he should know ...

Because of the story line of human survival, and everybody is vulnerable, Ive turned several zomie haters on to the show.

"Soap opera with zombies" is a fair comment, but the show wouldn't have survived for 4 seasons if it just focused on 'zombie action', and not the stories of the lives of the survivors.

A lot of people disagree with me, but I thought what they did with the Governor in Season 4 was great.

I agree - I enjoyed seeing a more human side of the Governor. I found myself liking him for a while, as he tried to escape the monster he was. But a leopard can't change it's spots.

I don't really think the Governor is way more of a monster than everyone else on that show. Most of them regularly do weird/gory crap related to killing Zombies and other people occasionally too. Just a really violent show all-around.

I dunno - I think the Governor went way out of bounds in killing and stealing, and for making himself a little tin god. He had more blood on his hands than anyone else in the show.

They're all "monsters" on that show, but the governor's just slightly more of one. I always thought it was amusing how they'd make out the governor to be really evil, but then almost everyone else to be relatively normal.

My kids and I couldn't stand the Governor and all of his twisted stories and lies to manipulate people to do things they wouldn't normally do.

Rick (almost) always keeps to the truth, despite having his moments of brutality - that puts him worlds away from the Governor.

I'm not counting on that either. I wouldn't be surprised if the whole zombie thing has begun to wear thin for Andrew Lincoln as an actor. At some point an actor may get tired of what he's doing and want to move on. Then again, maybe the Walking Dead gig is something he would be willing to do for many years. However, I would be surprised if the series lasts more than 10 years. The series already seems to have lost it's way a bit somehow.

If Rick goes, he's not one of the ones I'll miss most. My core faves are Daryl, Carol, Carl, Judith, Michonne. I know people have complained about Carl, but I don't see a problem with the character or the actor playing him.

I'm pretty certain Carl is going to last the length of the series, too, as he and Judith are the only reasons for Rick to go on.

Besides killing off his own squad, his advisor and what happened the last 2 episodes before the midseason finale?

Now to bide my time until a soap opera about zombies. I can already imagine the marital spats.
