It's implied that, like Bart, he might have ADHD. Definitely not Aspergers.

That is something I may have as well, so that's one thing in common.....

He is always on a different wavelength to everyone else. Most of the things he says are not very relavent to how the others are feeling or want to hear, etcetera.

Oh, I guess you might say he is kinda self-absorbed with ADHD.

I will admit I can be Homer Simpson-like in how I do things in life.

I identify with Homer when major events are happening and he thinks or says "mmm. Donuts".

I can't imagine Homer being an Aspie. For one thing, in early episodes (particularly Tracy Ullman) he played it straight half of the time. Also, a lot of TV sitcom dads are like that anyway.

Homer Simpson is definitely not an aspie. I don't agree about Martin Prince or Lisa Simpson either - someone mentioned that laziness and incompetence are not necessarily aspie traits, but being very smart or a high achiever doesn't necessarily make you an aspie either.

I think if anyone on The Simpsons is an aspie, it's Milhouse - he's a generally well-intentioned and reasonably intelligent person, but is very awkward and quirky, and also seems to be behind others his age in some respects. He faces struggles both socially and academically as a result. I know he's the character that I can relate to the most.

So, Homer is more of an ADHD type person, not unlike me.

Comic Book Guy is a stereotype of... well, a comic book guy, which can be a stereotype of Aspergers. I remember the episode where he was asked if he had any friends or romantic interests and he said the only ones were comic book characters and action figures. But I really don't know.

On the other hand, when I was younger I found Homer's obsession with food, the way he says "mmmm", and gurgles when he's tempted by it to be so amusing I began imitating him.

Homer may have an impulse control disorder.
