Now i haven't been actively following Spongebob but i find it hard to believe these claims. Sure everyone is entitled to their opinion but to me Spongebob never ceases to make me laugh. I admit there are some episodes that are mediocre, and some that are creepy though. That episode with Squidwards secret "pyramid" cult.

Every member wore a dress with a hat with the all seeing eye on it. So you got the Pyramid, a cult, the All Seeing Eye and the top part of the pyramid opens up to launch Squadward, Spongebob and Patrick. Get it? the top of the pyramid, like the Illuminati symbol? Strange stuff.

If you think Spongebob is still funny. I agree with you as far as the first three seasons, the film, most of Season 4, Most of Season 5, 60% of Season 6, less than half of Season 7, 25% of Season 8, and I'm not touching Season 9. The rest is entitled to you. MoBrosStudios makes a lot of good points on the worst episodes ever. I hate the "Squidward Torture Porn" episodes because it makes you feel bad for him and the episodes where Spongebob cries a lot to a point where it gets old and then the musical numbers where the lyrics get really stale and the plot devices that are rushed, cheap, and/or cheesy. If you want to reminisce on the good old days when Spongebob was at his peak, wait until MoBros makes a top 10 list of the Best Episodes (after he MAYBE gives a full review of Truth or Square). IMO, the best episode I ever saw was Band Geeks.

Same here. I remember seeing that episode for the first time when I was a kid and being completely blown away by it. I'm not ashamed to say that "Sweet Victory" gave me goosebumps.

Compared to the shows they're coming out with now-a-days, I'd say SpongeBob Squarepants is awesome. The writing of the episodes apparently wasn't or isn't strained in quality maybe because of the age group in kids that it was aimed at. Which, I looked up to be 6-11 year old kids. It doesn't take much to entertain younger kids not to mention 11 year olds wouldn't stop to think about the plot sense of the show. So, the writers are probably not thinking thoroughly to create a reasonable plot for 6 and 11 year old kids. Teens and adults, yes, will see the dragging mistakes and humor but SpongeBob Squarepants isn't for teens and adults. It's all up to opinion.
I don't know why people are scolding this show because of it's humor. Spongebob is the funniest cartoon on Nickalodeon especially when up against Big Time Rush and Marvin Marvin. Good GRIEF those two shows make my ears hurt with the cheap humor. There are also a butt load of other horrible humored shows on Disney Channel thats worth talking about!
Another thing I'm reading in these comments is it's gruesome humor in some episodes. That's nothing. You can't bad mouth this show on a few gruesome scenes when there's cartoons like Courage the Cowardly Dog, The Grim Adventures of Billy and Mandy, Invader Zim, and though a didn't watch this show, I've heard plenty of comments on the disturbing atmosphere of Nickalodeons show, Ren and Stimpy.
Though I've always Spongebob Squarepants, I have to admit it has pulled some scenes that've shocked me. Shoot, I forgot the name of this episode but it was the one where spongebob moved in to live at the krusty krab. There was a scene where spongebob just stepped out of mr. krabs office to see one of the costumers standing outside the door with a non too pleased look on his face. He said, "Escuse me! Is this your snail?" and the "camera" seemed to back up to reveal Gary the snail crawled up the costumer's leg. SpongBob screams, "Gary!" and the costumer stomps off with a "Put that THING on a leash!" Okay, a kid wouldn't normaly know what that scene stemmed off of but that still made my jaw drop. I found that scene a bit far. Not to mention the scene where Mr. Krabs walked in on spongebob's mother taking a shower. So yeah, this show has it's...moments. But I still love this show. And if they did kick Spongbob Squarepants off air, do you really beleive a better show would replace it? I mean, now they're just not writing plots at all. Writers are now just using already existing characters and settings instead of being original like spongebob. They just threw in movie characters to make a stupid POORLY animated shows. Back at the Barnyard, Teenaged Mutant Ninja Turtles, Kungfu Panda: Legends of Awesomeness and How to Train Your Dragon should've never been created. :wall:

I never liked Spongebob in the first place. I always thought of it as a stupid cheap knock off of Ren & Stimpy, so it's no surprise to me that the episodes get worse. You can attribute that to the decline of Nickelodeon.

Do NOT get me started on those horrible reality sitcoms. My littlest brother who is 13 watches those shows all the time and I can't believe he actually thinks they're cool.
The gruesome humor within certain shows depends if they were done right. Billy and Mandy, Courage, Invader Zim, and Ren & Stimpy nailed it in the right spot. For Spongebob, and maybe it's just me, but somes gruesome scenes resulting in an 11 or 12 minute cringe-fest does not appeal to me at all. I watched "The Splinter" once. It brought back a lot of painful memories because I had some really bad splinters too but Spongebob's was far worse that I just couldn't watch. Again, this could just be me.
One thing I don't like are Episodes containing cheap and cheesy plots with a cheap and cheesy ending. Most episodes like that often result in the main protagonist or protagonists or any main likeable character getting screwed over (pointing at Squidward). In the Show Ed Edd n Eddy, the Eds got screwed over at the end of every episode until the movie. At least the writers did some effort to make it funny. This might also be just me but watching Squidward get screwed over at the end of an episode for me is like watching my own dreams get crushed.
In the end, I agree. A long running show in decline is better than the new crap being put on TV.

The show definitely hit its peak with the band episode: Spongebob's rallying speech was the funniest thing the show ever brought to the table. since then, it's been going downhill.

I mean the suicidal plankton episode... WHAT THE **** WERE THEY THINKING?!

That said, my dad and I still both laugh at "If I had a dollar for every bran you don't have, I'd have one dollar."

Also, I'm really getting sick of seeing underwater fire... and underwater tears...

AND SPONGES DO NOT HAVE BONES!! !!!1!!!2!! !

But that theme song parody the OP did cracked me up! :lmao:

I am starting to get a little offended by it because of the ret*d jokes they pull now (I have been called a ret*d my entire life, that's why I'm offended). I try to tell my sister that it has gotten inappropriate and she does NOT listen. I try to tell her about those gay jokes but she thinks it's me being my inappropriate self. I tell her to change the channel but she doesn't. If I am watching something I like, she changes it to Spongebob! :x

My littlest brother Age 13 is the same way. I point out everything wrong with every episode he's watching. We were watching Atlantis Squarepantis and I wanted to watch the Beavis and Butthead movie (this was at my grandparents house and they have Dish). He tells me to shut up after I explained how bad the episode was. I later stole the remote just as the Patchy Filler was about to break out into another god awful musical number and flipped to Beavis and Butthead just in time to see them freak out in the desert to that Rob Zombie song.

Wow. Someone I can actually relate to about that. As for the series itself, they either get better writers who DON'T make those ret*d, gay, etc. jokes or cancel it and run it less frequently and replace it with something that people actually like, take DP (Danny Phantom), A:TLA and it's spin off LoK (Avatar: the Last Airbender and Legend of Korra), something with an actually plot line not some random dabbles for example. Trust me, people want a show that will make us laugh, cry, be an escape from reality, etc. NOT some sick show about a ret*d mutant sponge with a starfish that barely knows his own name. We don't want gay jokes. We want the humor from the characters being themselves. Take Pinkie Pie for example. She is funny because she is just Pinkie Pie. She throws parties and loves making her friends happy. That is different than forcing the entire city of Bikini Bottom to burp their ABCs. True humor comes from the characters being themselves in odd situations. Perfect example. Lesson Zero (MLP). Twilight becoming a nervous wreak because she can't write a letter on friendship to the princess. I learned that from this youtube video: "Why My Little Pony is AWESOME -KorraWorship???" (That is its exact name by NERD (abbreviated name)).

Danny Phantom. That was a good show. They could've done more with it even though the episode they ended the show with was perfect.

Yeah, I agree on Danny Phantom. That was a good show way back then.

Comparing the two shows. DP wins because of plot, characters, and scenery. Spongebob doesn't have character development to help with situations. For example, Danny went from this shy little thing to what he is now. Spongebob had barely any improvement and his character development went down hill. And I thought Spongebob had restrictions. When there are restrictions, creators have to rely on setting, characters, and voices. DP and MLP:FiM are good examples. Danny has a heroic like voice. Apple Jack and Apple Bloom have a southern draw that's not annoying. Pinkie Pie sounds like someone who wants to have fun. The list goes on. You can say I know my Animations cause I am a fan of Animation.

The original videos have been made private since the creator MoBrosStudios has been upset about them since then. People have been calling him a ranter rather than a YTPer. Someone else has taken the liberty of reuploading the videos and I'm going to put them here but I must state the following first.
MoBrosstudios does not review anything anymore. Instead he is doing what he loves, YouTube Poops.

BRACE YOURSELVES!! !

On a final note, The Top Ten Best Spongebob Episodes has been cancelled and you'll understand why if you read the above. There was also going to be a review of the new Spongebob Christmas Special (I think) but that, too, was cancelled.

I haven't watched or cared about Spongebob in years. I used to be a fan of the show for a long time but the new episodes are just... awful. And I just can't wrap my head around the fact that the show hasn't been cancelled yet.
