Well, I'm pretty bummed to see Tyreese and his group taken in over at Woodbury.

Tyreese was one of my favorite characters from the comics and I really wanted to see him join the group.

I guess it's just a consequence of Rick freaking out and acting like a douche... If this story arc progresses similarly to the comics, things are not going to end well.

:skull:

I think it's possible Tyreese might still see the light.

I feel like this series has been excellent, but the way Rick has been changing in this season has felt a bit discordant with the show's realistic, gritty theme, to its detriment. Particularly how Rick started going crazy at the prison because he saw his dead wife when encountering Tyreese's group felt like incredibly bad writing. It felt like a clumsy setup for this episode's twist that their group may now start helping the Governer. It stands out primarily because the show's writing is generally quite good. It doesn't make any sense that he would start going crazy, pull out a gun and start threatening people, and then for the rest of the group to not intervene. However I don't think this will be the last time we'll see Rick's madness nor the last time we'll see it conveniently raised again to further contrive the plot.

^^^ To be fair, Rick having mental problems was a big part of the Comic's storyline. In the TV show it started a few episodes ago when Rick started talking to NOBODY on the phone and when he saw Shane in Woodbury...

...And, look at everything he's been through, I'd say it's not realistic for him to NOT be cracking up now.

Also, Hershel did call Rick on the whole thing and tell him he needed to get his "crackers back in the box..."

I think this just makes Rick more human. I know some people don't like their heroes human, but don't worry, Rick (or somebody) will always come through in the pinch! :P

I mean they're already renewed for another season, right?

@ Kraichgauer,

If you only knew what happened between Tyreese and the Governor in the comics... NOT GOOD!

Wow.... I cannot believe this got all the way down to the second page!

I guess there's not many Walking Dead-heads here.

Anyway, I liked the last episode.

At first, I was a bit frustrated because it felt like this episode broke the momentum/tension leading to the inevitable conflict with the Governor. But on reflection, I think they needed the break... I also think Rick and company might come home to a nasty surprise.

I liked seeing what became of the TV version of Morgan Jones. It was good and sad...

I also liked the fact that Michonne is gaining trust with Rick and Carl. That beat between Michonne and Rick about 'seeing things' was a nice callback to the comics.

I also liked the bit with the hitchhiker... It might not turn into anything, but in the comics there would be a price to pay for that backpack, eventually...

I was very sorry to see how Morgan ended up alone and insane. But at least being able to reconnect with Rick seems to have brought him back to reality - - a little.

I'm glad Michonne finally had something to do in an episode besides scowl at everyone. Still, she remains the least interesting and most out of place character.

Hmm... I'm not sure how I feel about this last episode... We're diverging from the comics quite a bit, which is good. If I read it, I don't need to see it again.

The thing is, the whole give up Michonne thing just seems like a waste of time--pure TV plot BS...

Rick has done some extremely ruthless things (in the show and moreso in the comics) to safeguard the group. But giving Michonne to the Governor crosses the line from ruthless to evil in my opinion. That coupled with the fact that Michonne is such a major character in the comics, makes me feel like this is just an "empty threat" storywise...

I'm gonna hafta call bad writing on this one... Unless, of course, Rick really does give up Michonne. Then I'll be shocked, sad, pissed off, and entertained!

I really have no experience with the comic book, so I have no problem with the "give up Michone and you'll live" storyline. Besides, the Governor has made it clear, he's still going to kill everyone in Rick's group, regardless of what happens.

And Rick knows that too. I think that makes things even worse morally--Rick is willing to give up Michonne on the off chance that it might gain something with the governor.

I admit that I cannot separate my feelings for comic book Michonne from TV Michonne, but I feel like she's earned her spot in the group. I cannot see how Rick could justify giving up Michonne anymore than giving up Carol.

...and if you want to get ruthless about it, Michonne's a lot better in a fight (a lot more useful in general) than Carol. It seems to me, if Rick is capable of giving up Michonne, he's capable of anything. He certainly is not trust worthy as a leader.*

It will be interesting to see how this all plays out.

* at one point, in the comics, Rick admits that he does not give a rat's ass about anyone but Carl.
