I liked the show in its early seasons, but now its too focused on the relationships. It happens often in an American sitcom when they start to run out of better ideas.

I can't really relate to those characters anymore.

I agree. It was better when Leonard's love life consisted of his unrequited love for Amy and his occasional fling with Leslie, or even his side-romance with Raj's sister), Raj and Howard were lusting after everyone else and Sheldon was his usual indifferent self. Now that Leonard has Penny, and with Amy and Bernadette and now Lucy (? I mean Raj's recent love interest, though I forget her name I think). Well, I guess the guys couldn't stay lovable single losers forever, just it was better when they were. I mean, it seems like its been a long time since the four guys had Starcraft night or anything like that.

I don't understand why people struggle so with Sheldon potentially having sex to please Amy. I know you men lurk over on the women's board. Haven't you seen all the women who are more or less asexual, or who would on their own only choose to have sex once or twice a year, but who engage in frequent or semi-regular intercourse for their male partners? It's quite common. Relationships require compromise. Why is it so inconceivable that a man might do the same for a woman?

I like to think that Amy would be caring and sensitive, insomuch as she is able, to avoid making it a traumatizing experience for Sheldon. Perhaps he lets the trouser snake loose on the condition that he have a brain scan done during the process, or some other concession is made to him so that he will enjoy it for non-sensual reasons. Nobody is saying their intercourse must be conventional, after all.

I'm a guy and... I never, ever lurked on the women's board. Just saying.

He's 40?!?!?!?! No way! He sure does look a lot younger. Go Jim Parsons!

Same here, I wished they would have let Sheldon dateless for the rest of the series. It seems that nowadays everyone has to have a partner or relationships for some reason, I have yet to see a dateless protagonist in any current series or movies like in the good ol' days.

Well I must be in the minority..but am sticking to my guns. I happen to like this course the series is taking, especially with Sheldon maybe taking a (reluctant) leap of faith in the name of love. And I'm quite happy for Leonard and Penny. Safe bet they will hit more roadblocks. Also glad that they're doing something with Raj's romantic woes too.

I'm also cheering on Sheldon with his love life. Being autistic doesn't mean you have to be alone.

seeing Sheldon in a relationship is funny and I also want to see how things go. I also believe that Sheldon is such a great actor.

It's the least funny sitcom I still enjoy watching. Too many easy and predictable jokes, but for every joke like that there is a good one imo.
There are just better sitcoms out there.

There are things I don't like about the show but it is still a favorite for me. What other sitcoms are better? I could use some good humor.

Modern family, a comedy about 3 families with kids/teenagers all related to each other. Currently still airing.

But the best one ever is Arrested Development. Patriarch of a completely dysfunctional, loaded family gets imprisoned for fraud, and the middle son (only normal one of the kids) takes over the business.
Very dry humor, and completely different from TBBT. No easy laughs, no laugh track, but subtle and brilliant lines, that get referred to later on in the show. It basically builds on itself and gets funnier and funnier the further you get into the show. There are so many details to find that it's great for people like us. You can discover new stuff with every watch through.
It was cancelled after 3 seasons but it's getting a 4th season this year thanks to Netflix.

Another one I laughed my **s off with is Coupling. A British comedy about dating and men vs women. But it's been off the air for a while.

The office U.S. was really funny until the last 2 seasons.

How I Met Your Mother was really funny until the last few seasons.

Otherwise there are some shows that aren't really comedies, but have such comic relief due to some characters. I suggest trying out Fringe, one of the characters is hilarious.

Well, to start with, Curb Your Enthusiasm is pure genius. It is written (and starred) by Larry David, co-creator of Seinfeld and writer of one third of the Seinfeld episodes. No laughter behind. If you want to explore it, don't start with the 1st season because it's the only one that sucks.

Another show I can recomend and that I'm now following is The Ricky Gervais Show.

Finaly, Louie, by Louis CK is excelent, but weird at times. However, I would advise you to watch his amazing stand up specials before geting into the show Louie.

I can't wait for the 4th season (6 years, come on!), I've never laughed so hard!

Yeah, like, like the guy in the 6000 dollar suit is going to wait 6 years for a new season, COME ON!
