Too young to have been around for the heyday of the Western, but always liked Silverado (though I suspect maybe diehard Western fans might cringe that I'm saying that?).

does anyone here watch western tv shows?

I have the encore western channel and I just love watching maverick at noon...followed by life and legend of wyatt earp, bat masterson, and finally the great gunsmoke.. back when it was still black and white.. and good.. unlike what they show on ME. Cheyenne comes on after a couple episodes of gunsmoke which is great too...

There's a lot that's come and gone that i love.. like Have gun will travel and Wanted: dead or alive..

but i doubt they'll ever stop playing maverick and gunsmoke.. they are just too good.
anyone who loves westerns should love these shows.. they are legendary.

When I was growing up, I used to love watching shows like Maverick, Have Gun Will Travel, and Gun Smoke. Today, my wife and I regularly watch Hell On Wheels.

i heard that was good, but i haven't checked it out yet...or any of the new western tv shows for that matter.. /shrug idk.. none of my friends like westerns so i don't really have anyone to watch them with..

i just end up watching black mirror(which actually is pretty good) or some other sci fi.. really getting tired of all these sci fi shows.. especially the overdone ones like falling skies, defiance, dark matter, killjoys, all that mess.. blah..

it's so easy to see they are just running circles around plot holes in order to lengthen a sub par show. The only thing that would make it worse is if they hired Michael Bay to produce them. Gotta give him credit though, I loved Black Sails.

It seems like syfy is trying to copy firefly's awesomeness with their new shows.. but they are failing so hard.

When I was younger westerns were a big part of what I had to watch on tv. I could make a long list of my favorites but most of them are from either Clint Eastwood or John Wayne so there is no point there since no other names were bigger for the genre.

Some of the ones I enjoy that didn't have either of those two would be:

Tombstone
Young Guns
Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid
Support Your Local Sheriff
Support Your Local Gunfighter
My Name Is Nobody
Evil Roy Slade

I might be missing a few but that's all I can think of right now.

Big fan of spaghetti westerns, I like all of them almost, I enjoy especially now living where a lot of this stuff took place.

Dark Valley is western with kind of a different setting that's pretty new and is on Netflix right now. I enjoyed, classic mysterious stranger comes to town story.

Django Unchained is a great homage to spaghetti westerns as well

I'm a big fan of Spaghetti Westerns, too!

My favourite movie of all time is The Good, the Bad and the Ugly. It is a gorgeous work of art, beautifully shot, very funny, dramatic and engaging, the music is top-notch, and the main character, played by the always wonderful Eli Wallach, is very relatable to me. I don't know if he's relatable to anyone else on the spectrum.

I haven't seen Unforgiven, The Wild Bunch or The Outlaw Josey Wales. High Noon is one of my favourites, Once Upon a Time in the West is one I don't love but has grown on me, and Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid was a lot of fun.
