I don't really watch kids shows anymore except for Naruto . I think those tween sitcoms like "That's so Raven" are lame. When I was younger I liked Doug, Hey Arnold, and PowerPuff Girls.

I like "Sagwa, The Chinese Siamese Cat."

When I was little I loved Gummi Bears. I bought them for nostalgia reasons and thought they were still great. I also liked the other Disney hour cartoons, Duck Tales, Rescue Rangers, Tailspin, etc. And of course Transformers, GI Joe, Inspector Gadget, Danger Mouse, yada yada yada.

Now I mostly like anime, like Naruto, Bleach, Samurai Champloo, Inuyasha, Outlaw Star, Rune Soldier, Those Who Hunt Elves, The Twelve Kingdoms, Kino's Journey, Dragonball, Saiyuki, Fist of the North Star, and Lupin the Third.

I think kid's shows these days are trying to keep with the attitude they have these days, which explains why they aren't very good.

Kids really do have an attitude. I thought I was just getting old, but now I don't think so. When I was a kid, if you said a dirty word, you could count on twenty of your peers tattling on you or chastising you. Now they tell adults all sorts of profanities- and the adults let them get away with it!

Working in a grocery store I encountered all manner of spoiled brats. "BUY ME THIS!" "GIVE ME!" "I WANT IT!" "YOU'RE A B****! I HATE YOU!" and of course most the parents gave in to the little terrorists.

I think ONE time I was acting up, throwing a tantrum in a store because my mother wouldn't buy me something- my mother smacked the back of my head and yelled "WE DON'T ACT LIKE THUGS!" And by golly, it never happened again. Of course, someone insinuating that I was acting low class was probably scarier than any other punishment that could be doled out.

Now It's like kids are running the country. I'm all for listening to kids and acknowledging their needs as Human being, but I would never put up this crap. For one, I would have never let it get started in the first place.

The parents think they're so precious now... Just wait until middle school when their hormones turn them into snarling beasts. I can only imagine bullying has become even more vicious than when I was young.

Exactly. The plots are so obvious, predictable and repetive I never got to like the series as a kid. This goes for too many other cases too, especially nowadays. I also dislike - not just nowadays - how the dumb, silly ones always succeed.

In general, the shows and movies meant for kids used to be of a better quality. I can still enjoy watching through them which I can't do with most of the recent ones. And it's not just about the nostalgic value.

if i had kids and one of them said that to me it would be the last time they ever said the word till they where well into adulthood, iv never acted that way towards my dad and he never once had to strike me to instile dicapline in me either.

I've gone off the Pokémon cartoon as well.

Batman - The Animated Series owns all available ass. God, I loved that show, great animation, art deco style, dark, well-developed characters. Didn't treat the audience like idiots, either.

Some stuff is awful, yes.

But everything else currently out there is awesome.

I can't make it through a single episode of most of the kiddie shows these days, but I have to wonder if the quality really has gone downhill, or if it's just a different style made for a different generation. I find older kids' shows far more watchable, yes, but could that just be nostalgia?

Really, if you look at the shows critically, I have to agree that they've gone downhill, because everything these days has to be BIGGER LOUDER FASTER ADD-INFUSED! Older kids' shows had patience. They weren't slow moving, but not all of them had to be super fast either. I also remember seeing serious elements in some of the old kids' shows, where it could be touching. These days when kids shows try to be touching they just try banging the kid over the head with some moral they'll never care about rather than actually affecting them and letting them draw the moral in their head for themselves....

I miss Tranzor Z, specifically, Aphrodite A and her boob rocket.

I used to not like the show for those reasons, but within the last year I've found an appretiation for the show in that the formula is kind of outrageous if you think about it. A Stoner, a talking dog, boy and girl teenagers that I guess live in a van or something and drive around to nowhere in particular and visit structurally unsound and/or abandoned buildings where there just happens to be some sort of illegal conspiracy. It's weird and probably wouldn't fly as a modern kids' show.

Here in Australia there's been a lot of Goth Cartoons aimed at kids lately (From what I've seen my little brother watching), and they tend to be pretty educational.

One of them had an epsiode which dispelled some myths about the Mexican Jumping Bean. And they often have something about how peer pressure is bad and you don't have to listen to what other people say and all that good stuff.

Ugh. yeah kids shows suck nowadays. And Dora was an independent Hispanic Girl until diego showed up and took her spotlight.

and I'm sick of them not casting the right ages, a 20 year old is NOT a 14 year old. I don't care if they think it makes the show cool. just GAh!
