Let's see...

Cabinet of Dr. Caligari (German Expressionism at it's best, and a great psycho thriller!)
Metropolis (get the new extended remaster!)
M (the screen's FIRST serial killer movie)
Freaks (no comment, look it up yourselves..)

that's it!

Yep brilliant list.

The difference between the recent remaster of metropolis and the older dvd releases is astonishing. I've got an old version of M but am thinking of upgrading - has anyone seen the new master - is the picture quality in the same league as metropolis?

Not sure.
I have the Criterion version. And on it, they tended to shy away from "over" remastering in a better effort to preserve the film. On the back of the case they warn you that they used the best elements availible,
It looks good and clean and bright for an old dark film, and the sound (for an early talkie) sounds acceptible.

I'd reccomend renting it or borrowing it first, just to be sure. I like it, but I'm a German Expressionist movie junkie!!
