Harry Potter preferences
Hmmm. Technically, Harry, later on. He just becomes TOO conceted for his own good. Fortunately, Snape burst that little bubble.
Ha, someone who agrees with me. Here's my take on Harry and Snape:
I actually disliked Harry most in the Order of the Phoenix. He was far worse in that book than in the Half-blood Prince. His self-sacrificing hero act was even worse there than here! His ego was massive, and it needed a check. Unfortunately, his causing the death of Sirius because he considered himself to be the only one with magical power and brains, failed to do so. Snape showed him who was boss, with his show of power in HBP. But again, Harry hasn't taken the hint. Harry's going to make Snape sorry? Lmao! He's such a joker! What about at the end of HBP, where he breaks up with Ginny because he wants to 'protect' her? He still obviously is entrenched in his self-sacrificing hero antics. Just who is he trying to impress?
He is really naive and horribly angsty. Its obvious to the rest of us that his father and Sirius were hardly the nice guys Harry believes them to be. They were utter bullies; Harry ought to know better how cruel bullies are. My sympathies are with Snape. Despite the conclusion of HBP, I still think Snape is on the side of good. For starters, why, if Dumbledore trusted Snape so implicitly, would he have been frightened when Snape first appeared on the tower? He wouldn't, he would still have believed Snape at that stage. Either Dumbledore knew that Snape had made the Unbreakable Vow, and that he had to kill Dumbledore, or he and Snape were in collusion.
I very much doubt that any of the HP trio, Hermione Ron or Harry, will ever have the power to kill Snape or Voldemort. If both of them were evil, who could ever stand up to them? Voldemort alone was almost impossible to kill the first time around. Personally, I think that either Dumbledore is not dead, or Snape and Voldemort will face off at some stage.
1) Probably Hagrid or Luna, the sweet-yet-wierd characters. Snape is awesome as well (I believe he's good and only killed Dumbledore because he was protecting Draco), I have a high respect for Lupin and Sirius (sobs), and Voldemort himself is quite an interesting villain.
2) I absolutely would never want to have Umbridge teach a class at my school. Book 5 was an almost painful read due to her, the death of Sirius, and Harry being a total ass (why do I get the feeling that the 5th movie will be one of the only ones they don't totally screw up?...). Thank goodness Book 6 returned to the perfect balance of comedy and tragedy that made the other books in the series great.
3) Like pretty much everyone in this thread, it would be fun to be in Slytherin, though I wouldn't mind Ravenclaw.
4) Probably Ravenclaw.
5) Definately an owl. I've wanted one since, like, forever.
Now that I think about it, Wormtail might be an aspie! In the Order of the Phoenix, some of his friends tease him sometimes and he wouldn't say anything back; also he was very shy, and I think in the Prisoner of Azkaban movie, one of the teachers said that he wasn't good at dueling, so he might not be that physically coordinated; that's probably one reason why he's my favorite character. Lupin might be one too. I also like Dobby, Winky, and Kreacher too.
Some spoilers ahead.
1) Either Lupin or Tonks. MAAAN was I glad when they got together! Luna comes in a close third.
2) Umbridge, but with Rita Skeeter in a close second. Both made my toes twitch. I hated Book 5 the first time I read it just because so much of it was about Umbridge being unjust and evil and stuff. Heh.
3) Probably Ravenclaw. I'd pick Slytherin if not for the Nazi's, just because I like their dark style.
4) Again, probably Ravenclaw. Maybe Gryffindor, because I face my fears quite a bit, though I'd hope not to be put in there. I had bad experiences with Gryffs on the message boards... >.>
5) A Thestral. Those things are effin' cool. (I may have misspelled their name though--sorry. I haven't read Book 5 for a few years. Heh.)
