2. What about the proposed Feature Film - good or bad idea? - and on what topic?

Is there a proposed film for DW?

3. Would it be a good or a bad move for them to cover the Time War (using McGann's Doctor - and Regenerating into Eccleston) as a Feature Film or a special, or do we not want any more McGann and do we want the Doctor's past (particularly early Gallifrey life/flashbacks and the Time War) to remain shrouded in secrecy?

Well, I would like to see on TV, in live action of course, adventures of the eight doctor, after the enemy within, until his regeneration.

Also, a prequel wouldn't sound bad, about the youth of the first doctor, supposedly the longest encarnation, right?

I haven't heard any rumors regarding a new Doctor. But I just started watching the show, so I really wouldn't know.

Something tells me the Time War should be kept secret, along with the Doctor's past. It would keep the character mysterious, which is part of the attraction to the show.

All I'm going to say is that it's a good show. I haven't been so addicted to a TV show since I was a little kid (literally).

The coolest thing was when I met K9 and his voice-over in my local city centre. I took a photo and it looks like K9 is eating his head! I also saw Elizabeth Slayden but couldn't be bothered to pay £40 for an autograph (do you blame me?). I loved the last series, although the ending was a little bit dissapointing. It felt a bit like one of those 'and then I woke up' type endings. Will still be watching the new special episodes though!

No, I have a great sense of humour, it's just that neither you nor Bollard are funny.

I guess not... Come to think of it, I've only been able to make a couple people laugh since I've been here. OK, no more stupid attempts at humor from me then.

I don't have a whole lot of insight on the new series, but I've been a fan of the classic Doctor Who for most of my life.

United States. I used to watch Doctor Who and other BBC shows (like The Prisoner) on public television.

I've heard that from many people. I haven't got an opprotunity to see his Doctor, but I wouldn't mind watching him play the role.

I started watching the show in July, and already have a boxed set of some of the DVDs! It really is an addicting show. I plan on eventually collecting the toys.

if you plan on collecting memorabilia and have a deep pocket you should pick up the Weta Doctor Who- Dalek's destruction statue(does that sound like a sales pitch?)
I read about it in a magazine and thought it looked pretty cool although I couldn't afford one myself.

PostPerson.... I wasn't trying to be funny, I was just trying to encourage people to branch out a bit more... sorry it was wasted on you. (sigh). I might sound arrogant but hey, I've had more than a few long days recently - too many projects etc...

Anyway - I can't answer your questions because the series is still showing in Australia and I don't want to spoil things for people who have not seen it. The story is setting up something for the future but it doesn't necessarily follow that they'll use it - the production team hinted that they might but it could be a red herring.

re: Feature film... yes, they are in talks at the moment. Whether it will happen or not is debatable.

Current Whovian outings are suffering. Not the Doctor.. Tennant is outstanding.. but the current prediliction for Earth. Most of the events and storylines rotate around Earth and earthlings.. what happened to jaunting off to Skaro once in a while? Sadly, there seem to be too few non-contemporary earth tales as well. Maybe its about time we saw another assistant that wasnt from London circa 2008, involved in events occuring outside London/Cardiff? After all, the UK is quite small, yet varied. How about something in Bristol? Leeds? Sunny Doncaster?

Even Moffat himself has suggested that the Doctor Who universe is rapidly starting to look like only ten people live in it, and at least 8 of them are Dalek Khan. With such a rich pantheon of past characters, is it such a push to sling in a sea devil or something? the recent Sontaran outing made a thouroughly nice change.

Finally.. if they must use Daleks so much, do they really need to completely eradicate them every time, then contrive to return them en masse in a way that seems just a little trivial and convenient? Its quite possible to defeat small groups of Daleks in interesting and show-worthy ways. That or bringing back the Heavy weapons Dalek and the renegade daleks.

Wasn't Skaro destroyed in "Remembrance of the Daleks"? If most episodes are set on Earth, then they should bring back the Sea Devils (and the Silurians.)

It seems to be an old "tradition" in Doctor Who to completely wipe out an evil race, only to bring them back if they were popular enough. This happened to the Cybermen in almost every episode they appeared in the old series. However, most Who villains tend to stay dead. Some of the better ones never came back, unfortunately.
