Why does the Doctor never regenerate into someone older anymore? Was there an explanation for this? The first Doctor was the oldest, and he just seems to get younger with each new regeneration. However, I didn't notice that trend in any of the other Time Lords... by the time the Master got to his 13th incarnation, he was like a rotting corpse, and he had to take over someone's body in order to be "young" again.

^OK, I take some of that back... he doesn't get physically younger in EVERY new regeneration, but he rarely seems to get much older. He usually stays at about the same age.

You're assuming that Time Lords have a "choice" over what they regenerate into. Maybe Romana did, but I never got the sense that the Doctor had much control over what he would end up looking like.

There are probably plenty of older actors in the UK who could play the Doctor, and he almost always has a companion to appeal to the "young audiences," so I really don't see the point of making him young all the time (unless it's to ensure that the actor lives long enough to return for a "The [insert number] Doctors" episode.)

I wonder if they will be able to bring Michael Jayston back when it comes around to the Twelfth Doctor?

Oooh.... I just want to rant about this one. I don't know what's changed with the team but this flick was dead, dead, dead.

- No comedy... absolutely none.
- Taran beasts (with k-mart purchased cybermen masks)
- A lifeless companion... (bring back Donna or Rose)
- A silly iron giant which made me think Iron Giant meets Steamboy
- Not much of a plot.

Am I alone in thinking this was crud?

I think it was Crud tooo, I'm lucky I didn't wait till the 25th jan to see it.

The monsters didn't change much between last Christmas and this years.

Angles just replaced with Cybermen!
MAx= Woman

Except of course -Giant Titanic smashing into Bucking palace 8)

And its up to doctor to save the day yet again

Yay good for him and I liked the fact the yclapped and cheered in the end though

The new doctor looks hip I'd like to see the look there going to take with him.

put him in jeans with a more casual Jacket because the new doctor would not look good in a Suit or a tie for sure

And hopefully we don't get anymore of tenns wacky Jim carrey look alike faces anymore, this one looks for in the vain of Ecclestones doctor 8)

we're talking about Christmas 2008 special here right? because it was the first special I've seen and I was "Wait.....this is Doctor Who?" Are all Christmas specials like this? drab and breezed??

Tenant as a Doctor was okay, he brought comedy and seriousness to it. I cannot wait to see this new Doctor. Is anyone here a House fan? If so, either I'm imagining something or it looks like we have a Chase clone running around.
