That quote is irrelivent to this discussion.

Whether or not it is taught as an excersize now, I do not believe that a 7 year old she imitate it. If an adult wants to do pole dancing I don't care.

A group of supporters has started a petition to get pole dancing into the Olympic games.

Unless the dancer is naked and/or simulates a sex act with the dancepole, there should be nothing wrong with pole dancing.

As if they hadn't made a big enough joke out of the Olympics already...

My brother once tried to get my parents to ban me from watching the cartoon "Speed Racer" because he thought it wasn't good for kids. Fortunately, my parents didn't listen and I was free to watch it.

In the early 1990s when it was being rerun on MTV and I was in my 20s, I as an adult didn't understand what his issues were with it. Other than my brother is one of the biggest jerks on the planet, I don't know why he didn't want me watching it.

I have wondered why the Flapjack Flip-Toss was never an Olympic event...

I never liked her ever, the only thing I ever liked about her was the episode of South Park.

I just assume everything on TV is bad for kids, except for perhaps PBS... I watched a ton of Sesame Street growing up and I think it helped me learn quickly.

Mostly because of the advertising focus of TV... I don't think that's good for young minds.

With the proliferation of DVDs... I think it's easy for parents to get a bunch of programming that they can enjoy and approve of... instead of relying on TV.

Man... I told myself I wasn't going to become a TV snob when I stopped watching cable/broadcast TV... that didn't happen... :P

I think it's the adverts that are the worst thing. And that's probably true for adults as well as kids.
