i saw some of it. i cannot bring myself to show any true interest.

i was watching some actor gasp for air, and nearly pass out on herself, over the excitement of winning an oscar. people were crying and stuff, and im thinking "wow... they ACT in MOVIES that arent even all that good, and will be forgotten soon.... save your tears for whoever brings peace to somalia or something,.,"

ol grumpyhead me :]

... Also, he's only the second person I believe to recieve an Oscar after passing away.

The first was Sidney Howard, for the 1939 Academy Award for "Writing Adapted Screenplay" - Gone With The Wind (1939) - in 1940.

Heath Ledger died at the age of 28, from an "accidental" toxic combination of prescription drugs - he overdosed. They gave an Oscar to a dead junkie.

What next, Curt Cobain receives a posthumous knighthood?

I thought they were trying way too hard to be "edgy" this year, I kept having to check my cable box to make sure I wasn't watching the MTV movie awards. Even Ben Stiller's bearded send-up of Joaquin Phoenix had already been done years ago by Jim Carrey at the MTV awards, it was like deja vu for me.

A few questions.
Firstly, why did the camera cut back and forth
between Angelina Jolie and Jennifer Aniston
when the latter was presenting?

I didn't catch this until someone else brought it up. Maybe they were hoping for a cat fight between Brad's current and ex???? :?

I didn't quite get that. I doubt if that ever happen on TV.
