^I don't know why you guys in the UK even bother watching our TV, it sucks. :lol: (I'd be happy to trade, though. :twisted: )

There IS NO SEASON FIVE! There have only been four seasons, and now a number of specials this year.

Ah, but how would WE know that? They don't play the bloody specials either.

But again, it's taken them so long to play anything that I've just cooled on the idea of watching at all. That, and that new guy looks like the man in the moon. I wish PBS would start playing the very old ones. I could go for that.

Well, how do you watch the programme other than TV? Youtube is so grainy as to be useless.
Surely, there's no way you'd be reading here if you haven't seen the latest story.

If you get an AVI and don't play it with a media player but instead convert it directly to DVD, then there's no danger of viruses because they'd not survive the re-encoding.

Torrents are great so long as your getting them from a reliable source which are actually both plentiful and easy to find. most of the biggest torrent sites have member and torrent rating systems so you know what users and what torrents are reliable.

gbollard, YouTube serves my purposes well enough, but usually, I am content with reading the Wikipedia article until it comes to Australia. I don't mind text spoilers, so long as I can watch it.

I heard that there is a reference to my namesake in Planet of the Dead. Is that so?

I don't mind YouTube's "graininess" because I'm used to it. Eons ago, my family used to record PBS-aired Doctor Who episodes on VHS, and even though the quality was crap and the sound was barely audible, we would still watch them over and over.

And besides, everything looks "grainy" to a Cyberman...

Left untethered, they can chew up bandwidth like there's no tomorrow.
But used carefully, eg: to download a 500MB avi file, particularly one as popular as that last Dr Who, it's a matter of minutes.

BTW QM: There are quite a few sci-fi references, not just to your namesake. I don't know how you handle the spoilers - surely it's irritating knowing about things before they happen. I remember averting my gaze from the publications as much as I could during he lead up to Trial of a Timelord - I still got wind of Peri's death but the Valeyard's identity remained mostly secret. Now with the internet, things are so much tougher.
