The Thing.

Rewatched John Carpenter's sci-fi/horror masterpiece, where a group of isolated men in Antarctica are trapped with a shape changing alien bent on devouring and becoming them all. Great movie.

Touch Of Evil (1958)

Film Noir directed by Orson Welles, which has achieved a legendary cult status. Hank Quinlan, played by Welles himself, is a corrupt detective who is brought down through the efforts of Mexican cop Miguel Vargas (Charlton Heston). Marlene Dietrich also has an interesting part as some kind of club owner with a past connection to Quinlan.

The film had an interesting and convoluted production history, with Welles's preferred version apparently being scrapped by the studio. A 'director's cut' was finally released in the late 1990s, but I think the version I've just seen was the original one which I recall from previous viewings in the 1970s and 1980s.

So far, she's ignored my observation that Santa's Slay [2005]—"Spreading holiday fear this Christmas."—is also a Christmas movie.

The Matrix Resurrections

My verdict is much the same as that for Ghostbusters Afterlife.

This is one of the funniest movies I have ever seen.

My coping mechanism for nightmarish, abusrdist situations' - that give me horrible anxiety, is to laugh nervously and sometimes maniacally.

Works for me. *shrugs*

The following clip made me cry with laughter:
