Last night we watched:

The Death of Stalin [2017]
-=-"In the Kremlin, no one can hear you scheme."
Filming locations include: Moscow, Russia; Kyiv, Ukraine; London, Oxford, and Wexham, England.



It held our attention. Neither of us knows how to describe it.

I can tell you it is not Science Fiction, Romance, a Western, or a Musical. It is interesting. I'm pretty sure it does not qualify as a Documentary—in its own words it is: "Loosely based on the true story."

Tarantula (1955)

Fairly typical 1950s black and white B Movie, with an obscure cast. The monstrous spider, created by a not-quite-mad scientist, isn't very convincing, but gets through its routine efficiently enough (which inevitably involves killing its creator), before equally inevitably meeting its demise, at the hands of a napalm bomb dropped by the US Airforce.

Ghostbusters Afterlife.
Very good. I think the girl is Autistic.

Last night we watched:

The Devil's Carnival [2012]



And it is difficult to know what to say.
-=-- I thought the storytelling was a bit confusing and weak.
-=-- It is a musical and the music is strong (listen to the trailer, above!).
-=-- It had STYLE!

It had a lot of style. It was like watching a musical where all of the parts were played by Batman's Joker and Harley Quinn! (Except one lead was boringly n o r m a l.)

If you are willing to overlook the storytelling in return for the sound and style, you might enjoy it.

DamNation, a documentary that I recommend everyone watch!
"This film explores the evolution of our national attitude from pride in big dams as engineering wonders to the growing awareness that our own future is bound to the life and health of wild rivers."

On The Road.

Based on Jack Kerouac's book of the same name, the movie concerns struggling writer Sal Paradise and his worshipful friendship with the half conman, half madman, Dean Morriarty. The two hit the road, traveling across the country with virtually no money, and in the company of other eccentrics and literary artists. Sal has to learn from personal experience that what everyone is telling him - - that Dean will use him up then throw him away when he's done.
Great movie, especially for anyone who loves Beat literature.

Last night we watched:

Seoul Station [2016]
-=-"The animated prequel to TRAIN TO BUSAN."
We watched it in Korean with English subtitles.



A good zombie film. And a good prequel to another, the not animated Train to Busan [2016].

The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy

I dunno about you guys, but I find this film pretty enjoyable.
