that's nice.

Since Batman isn't made for kids, i really don't care.

The franchise died BECAUSE of batman & robin. Clooney was just as bad as, if not, worse than everyone else in that cinematic abomination.

You ARE talking out of your ass. you think batman is supposed to be funny, silly, campy fun, but it is not. it's supposed to be serious whether you like it or not. Also, there are no batman fan who would EVER agree with you about ANYTHING on this thread.

I doubt that, if you want Batman to be camp and kiddie-orientated, then go and watch the 1960's TV series. Clooney was so wooden that a plank of wood could be a better actor!

Bale is an ideal choice, yeah he may growl and snarl so much, but what did you expect? Adam bloody West?! Conroy is better than Clooney, even as a voice.

You still don't get it yourself do you? i am not saying batman should be completely funny and camp but they can combine humour with serious can't they. Clearly Nolans films are lacking that cause its just all fun and no play where his bat films are concerned.

jamesy: you don't get it. batman can't have any humor. humor clashes with seriousness. BUT, batman CAN have subtle humor, demonstrated in TAS, and the nolan movies. Clearly schumacher's films are lacking that cause its just all fun and play where his bat films are concerned.

Humour?! There has been PLENTY of humour in Nolan's interpretations! Did you not laugh when the Joker said "Hiiiii" in his nurse outfit when he visited Harvey Dent? The whole cinema audience laughed their heads off when i watched it, as did i. They even laughed at the disappearing pencil trick, Bruce and Alfred's talk in the bunker and even "Im not wearing hockey pads" quote to the fake Batmen in the beginning.

If you don't think that's humour, then there is something seriously wrong with you.

that's true. It was humor. not campy humor. Jamesy was just too bored to catch these. These were really funny

no. there really was no humor in burton's bat-films. nicholson was acting goofy. other times it was boring.

Disagree, although DeVito had a few humourous lines as The Penguin and Nicholson hammed it up as the Joker - the latter of which is still hammy even 21 years on. There was humour in Begins too when Bruce Wayne talks with guests at the hotel about Batman's first showing, plus when he's talking with Lucius Fox upon getting the gear for the Batsuit.

Does that count?

The only boring person here is you, Jamesy. There's nothing wrong with embracing the camp side of Batman, it's just the vast majority of Bat=fans PREFER the dark, brooding and tragic vigilante with sociopathic tendencies who spends his night beating criminals up in a corrupt city. That's why Nolan's versions have been successful, comic book flicks aren't for kids anymore, y'know.
