I saw Crazy Stupid Love on Saturday.

If you need a good laugh, go see Crazy Stupid Love.

There's a bit of a twist near the end of the movie
involving Cal {Steve Carell}, Emily {Julianne Moore}
and Hannah {Emma Stone}.

You may also feel a bit creeped out by
Robbie's feelings for the girl babysitting him
and of the babysitter's feelings for Cal.

Where the Buffalo Roam, the first movie based on the writing of Hunter S. Thompson. It came out 17 years before Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas. It sucks, I'm sad to say. Bill Murray does a halfway decent impression of Thompson but never becomes him like Johnny Depp did, and the script is a bore. I can't imagine anyone watching the movie and understanding what's so good about Thompson.

It's on YouTube in its entirety if anyone's interested, but I suggest just watching something else instead. The documentary Buy the Ticket, Take the Ride is also on YouTube in its entirety, and it's much better. Or go rent Fear and Loathing. Or go read Fear and Loathing or The Great Shark Hunt. Anything else.

On Sunday, I watched an IMAX movie
called Born to be Wild, yes like the song.

It was great.

Dinosaur, the Disney CGI movie from 2000. Absolute freaking masterpiece. It had been a long time since I had seen such a work of cinematic art. aAnd the CGI didn't even look dated for an eleven year old movie.

I just got finished watching William S. Burroughs: A Man Within, which I think is probably the best biography of Burroughs there has ever been put on film. My only criticism is that the documentary didn't go deep enough into his relationship with his son, Billy Burroughs, who had died of alcoholism years before Burroughs Sr. had passed on.

A Serbian Film (I just had to watch because of all the controversy) It was pretty darn horrific. Not as bad as I thought it would be, although 4 minutes were cut from it. Good stuff. 7 or 8/10.

Battle: Los Angeles Jam-packed full of action and explosions, but it is so cliched, boring and OTT. 4.5/10.

I just saw Rise of the Planet of the Apes.

Best CG I've seen in a while and Caesar is badass.

I love this movie. :D

Tonight I watched Impostor, which was surprisingly good, considering all the negative reviews it got from critics. Compared to other Philip K. Dick films, it's worse than Blade Runner, Total Recall, and A Scanner Darkly, but better than Paycheck, Next, and maybe Minority Report and Screamers. It's at least on par with those. I still haven't seen The Adjustment Bureau. I'll put it on my Netflix list next.

My son and I saw "Cowboys and Aliens" the other day. It was fun. On a side note I started wondering why the interpretation of aliens since the movie "Alien" are both chitinous and slimy. Doesn't make sense. Also, still in a state of shock over $18.75 for a large popcorn and 2 medium drinks.

Yesterday, before I attended a free concert,
I saw the independent Irish comedy The Guard.

I laughed a lot. This movie is very good.
