Tim Burton's adaption of "Sleepy Hollow". :skull:

That and "Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street" are my two all-time favorite movies that he and Johnny Depp did together.

It is a very good movie. I've tried it on relatives who don't generally like science fiction and they enjoyed it.

I hope you are familiar with the series Firefly that precedes the movie. (The movie is good but the TV series is incredible...it's current IMDb user rating is a spectacular 9.0! If anyone unfamiliar with it decides to view it, do not watch the series' episodes in broadcast order! To get a coherent story-line the episodes should be viewed in the writer's intended order!)

OMG! Diehard Firefly fan here!! I loved Serenity too!

Film I watched: Keeping up with the Joneses.

It was a time waster, but you know....Jon Hamm.

Last night we watched:

Blade Runner: Director's Cut [1992]
<=>"The original cut of the futuristic adventure."

If you enjoy science fiction movies or serious science fiction then, what can I say?
You really should see either Blade Runner: Director's Cut [1992] or Blade Runner: Final Cut [2007].
Or, at the very least, the original theatrical release [1982].

The American Film institute lists it as one of the top ten science fiction films.

We were specifically watching it because we just finished the first eight seasons of Red Dwarf and the next "season", the feature-length "Back to Earth", can best be appreciated by viewers familiar with Blade Runner.

Last night I watched:

The Day the Sky Exploded [1958]

Not recommended. Not horrible but only worth watching if you just want to waste time.

A Scream recap before the new film starting with Scream and Scream 2.

Thief (1981)

An ex-convict, played by James Caan, agrees to carry out a no-strings bank heist for a mafia-type gangster, only to find after the event that there are very definitely strings attached. Things then proceed to a spectacular and violent resolution. Also stars James Belushi and Tuesday Weld.

Visually an impressive film, though the dialogue was sometimes difficult to follow (could have done with subtitles) and the music score could be a bit overpowering and intrusive too. It's been described as a 'Film Noir', but it was a damn sight more straightforward and comprehensible than most of the classic films of that genre from the 1940s era.

I liked it.
