Madame Web (2024)

I had no idea what to expect with this film. It was okay. No. It was good. It did not leave me with great excitement like when I saw X-Men YEARs ago, but X-Men I had an emotional investment in because my sons and I use to watch the animated series. The first time Wolverine's claws came out, adrenaline fueled goosebumps. As I said, Madame Web I knew absolutely nothing about the character or the story. The only thing I knew was she was played by Dakota Johnson. Still, I enjoyed the movie, and there were times when I watching and running (in a game) and was so glued to the screen I ran straight into the ocean. This happened more than once.

Now I'm watching a Korean drama. Time to put the game away. The description said something about An Atypical Family and super humans. There is an actor in an adequate fat suit. No 100% convincing in the face. (sorry person that worked hard to construct it.)

I have seen The Day Time Ended a couple years ago. It was on the second season of MST3K on Netflix (The Gauntlet)

Kinga, played by Felicia Day, is expecting a child this season.

If one has Netflix.... Netflix - MST3K - episode 1204 - The Day Time Ended

I'll agree the claymation critters seemed like add-ons...but if they had gotten more screen-time (and a clearer story-line) it might've helped the film.

Last night I watched something that had been standing out on the shelf:

Modesty Blaise [1966]
tag:"Nothing can faze Modesty Blaise,
tag:"Nothingthe world's deadliest and most dazzlingly female agent!"

I sort've wish I'd left it on the shelf.

\o/Not Recommended\o/ unless you really want to get an overdose of 1960's style.

Personally, with few exceptions, I didn't like 60's style even in the 60's.

The Hunted

More of a thematic movie than a plot heavy one. Benecio del Toro is excellent and paired well with Tommy Lee Jones. It reminded me a lot of Metal Gear Solid, particularly when it's in nature. Great directing from guy who did The Exorcist.

Very action-packed, everything one may want from a movie set in a post-apocalyptic world.

Ana Taylor-Joy is a great actress, but IMO, no Charlize Theron.

Europa Report.

Essentially a found footage sci-fi/horror film. Told through recently discovered transmissions from a manned voyage to Jupiter's moon, Europa, in the near future, the crew had lost contact with earth and disappeared attempting to find life on said frozen moon. After a combination of unexpected accidents, the crew discover something alive beneath the ice.
Enjoyable movie.
