Toys, a 1992 film starring Robin Williams. At first I was kind of excited to watch it, thinking that maybe it was at least "cult classic" material. Turns out there was a reason everybody decided to forget about it: it's awful. Well, the soundtrack, costumes and set designs are actually pretty neat, but the acting and "humor" is so painfully off-the-mark that I shut it off halfway through.

Yesterday, I saw the remake of Footloose.

I liked it. It's one of the better remakes in a while.

No one will ever, ever match Kevin Bacon as Ren McCormick.

Next up:
Moneyball
Real Steel
Take Shelter

That's a very good movie, of which I came close to
crying at certain points.

The Wild Parrots of Telegraph Hill

I thought it was quite charming and interesting. I passed it on to my mother and my brother, both obsessed bird watchers and they loved it too.
I'm going to watch Grave of the Fireflies today or tomorrow, another suggestion from this thread.

My wife and I stayed up into the early hours to watch the remake of The Hills Have Eyes this morning. We liked it quite a bit, though I'd like to see the original again, which I haven't watched for years.

The Town

Liked this quite a bit because Affleck is always affable, and Jeremy Renner is a cracking actor. Seemed to ripped off Heat a lot, but that's no bad thing.

I agree, The Town is a great movie. I very much liked Jon Hamm as the FBI agent.

A People Uncounted about the Roma ("Gypsy") their history, their suffering during the Holocaust, their present day status. They are still the only race of people not fully assimilated in society. It's a sobering, truthful, very hurtful and sad look at their lives and opinions and histories. Most people don't care about the truth behind various ethnicities and their history and social issues;I do tremendously.
Get ready to wipe eyes at least several times. This is an amazing eye opener.

Yesterday, I saw Moneyball at my neighborhood movie theater.

I liked it and was surprised by the amount of humor in this.

On Wednesday, I plan on seeing Real Steel or Take Shelter.

Batman: Year One

It's a good adaptation of Frank Miller's greatest work.

It's just a shame so many will think the best parts were ripped-off from Batman Begins...

I watched Bride of Chucky not too long ago. I think Jennifer Tilly is beautiful and an awesome actress, and I love how this movie is basically a parody of itself.
