Earlier

Sssssss (1973)
watched on Svengoolie

This is not the movie for you if you have Ophidiophobia, fear of "legless lizards." I know someone that has a serious case of Ophidiophobia, and that is the only way one can talk to her about the topic. Call them "Legless Lizards."

A university professor seeks to develop a serum that will transform people into King Cobras (cobras as in legless lizards).
It does not end well for him. That should not be a great spoiler.

Honestly, I spent a portion of the movie sending texts to one of my sons because there is a college bully and he is played by Reb Brown. My son and I know Reb Brown from the movie Space Mutiny where he plays Dave Ryder. However, the gang on Mystery Science Theater 3000 know him by many, many, many names. He was also featured on Rifftrax in the movie Yor: the Hunter From the Future. Marvel enthusiast may know Reb Brown from Captain America (1979) and possibly Captain America II: Death Too Soon. When I first saw Space Mutiny, would never have guested I would have seen Reb Brown in so many things or he would occupy so much space in my head.

Bridget Jones: Mad About the Boy (2025)
streamed from Max

I haven't seen any of the Bridget Jones movies. Although I sensed how it would end, I enjoyed the journey.

I was always aware of the Bridget Jones films, but I honestly always think Bridget Nelson, wife of Mike Nelson. They were both writers on Mystery Science Theater 3000. Seriously, it is tough to research Bridget Jones Nelson without running into Renée Zellweger. Maybe I'll watch the other films.

IMDB description wrote:
Bridget Jones navigates life as a widow and single mum with the help of her family, friends, and former lover, Daniel. Back to work and on the apps, she's pursued by a younger man and maybe - just maybe - her son's science teacher.

In A Violent Nature.

My Valentine's Day present. Slasher film told from the perspective of the killer, instead of from the viewpoint of campers being stalked by said killer.
Pretty decent.

Last night we finally watched:

The Monster of Phantom Lake: The Musical! [2017] {website}

A delightful addition to the Mihmverse!

The Book Of Blood.

Americanized take on three intertwined stories based on works of Clive Barker. Not bad.

Bridget Jones: Mad About The Boy
Renee Zellweger returns as everyones favourite bumbling Brit. This instalment in the quadrilogy sees Bridget learning to move on after losing Mark after he was killed years ago in an explosion during a humanitarian mission in Sudan. Once again she gets in way over her head when she meets park ranger Roxter, and the interaction quickly blooms into a summer romance.

The Last Showgirl
The lustrous Pamela Anderson plays Shelly, a 57-year-old troupe dancer who stars in a long-running Las Vegas revue called "Le Razzle Dazzle". She is crestfallen when Eddie, the show's producer breaks the news to the group that the casino is pulling the plug on show due to poor ticket sales. Throughout the movie we the audience are treated to brief hints of her glory days when she was jetted around the world and treated like a superstar.

The common theme of these two movies is the ever-eternal struggle to let go of the things we love and finding something new to take their place.

Queen of Snakes (2019)

Starring Stephanie Mihm in the title role as the wheelchair bound mother who with the aid of an amulet channels The Queen of Snakes.

(looks black and white, because the preview is black and white, but the movie is in COLOR)

Enjoyable and it only cost about $10,000, and it is in COLOR! Seriously, the cost always amazes me.

Also, streamed on my computer at the same time.
The Wild World of Batwoman (1966)
streamed on Shout TV showing Mystery Science Theater 3000.
I read that the director promised the leading actor that plays Batwoman that the film would be in COLOR. It wasn't. I've seen this more than a couple times before and I always think that Katherine Victor, who plays Batwoman, look a bit like Judy Garland with the mask and wig/cap/whatever on.

(don't waste your time)

Last night we watched:

Demon with the Atomic Brain [2017]
<=>"This is how the universe dies!"

Another good addition to the Mihmverse.

Oh, and I agree with what pcgoblin said. And I'll mention that the "techniques and tricks" mentioned by pcgoblin, this time, remind me very much of Audrey.

This was a fun movie.

Hellraiser.

2025 installment in the franchize, where a young drug addict is talked by her boyfriend into robbing a safe from which they retrieve a certain puzzle box. Little does she realize she's being manipulated by a sinister individual who had made a deal with the Cenobites, and lived to regret it.

Ringu.

Watch a cursed video about a dead girl, and you'll be dead!
As blasphemous as it might seem, I actually preferred the American version.

Last night we watched:

Greenland [2020]
<=>"It's the end of the world as we know it."

Somehow, Greenland is in the U.S. national news...though it seems to me like just more on a theme of nonsense.
