The Strange Thing About The Johnsons.

Short horror film in which a successful African American poet and writer is being preyed on sexually... by his son.
While the actual sexual assaults aren't shown, the subject matter remains very disturbing.

Portrait Of God.

A student is doing an analysis of a picture of a black plain entitled, Portrait Of God, which some claimed to be able to see an image after staring at it for an extended period of time. And then she herself sees it, and it's horrific.
Disturbing short horror film.

Hobo With a Shotgun
Another film I'm glad to have seen.

Scarlet Street (1945)

Deep down I'm a romantic. Edward G. Robinson plays a quiet, sensitive man, Chris Cross, whose wife pines for her dead husband and lets Chris know he can never live up to her dead husband. Helps a woman, who has been knocked down by her scummy boyfriend. He is smitten by her (Joan Bennett) beauty, who is much younger than he is, but she shows interest in him. When he tells her she shouldn't be out so late on the street at night by herself. She asks him what he thinks she does for a living? He says an actress. She does not correct him.

He paints as a hobby. When she learns he paints, she assumes he is a rich famous artist. They both see what they want to see.

He is decent person, and people around him are more or less horrible. In the end I'm not sure if she had feelings for Chris Cross, or was just trying to chase him away and save him.

This film was directed by Fritz Lang, who said it is one of his favorite films.
Edward G. Robinson is excellent. Joan Bennett is lovely and very good.

I'm following this film up with The Woman in the Window (1944)
This is another film directed by Fritz Lang, and starring Edward G. Robinson and Joan Bennett.
This is a movie in progress. So far I'm enjoying it. So far, a man has been killed when he enters Joan's apartment and finds Edward there. He attempts to strangle Edward. Joan gives Edward a pair of scissors. Edwards stabs the man in the back several times. This is not a spoiler. It is the setup for the film. I will say, thank goodness this was from 1944. People stabbed back then did not get blood on the nice carpet.

Sometime later...
Finished The Woman in the Window. Good film. Interesting ending.

Oddity.

A blind woman who runs an oddities shop (antiques and curios) receives the glass eye of the released mental patient who had been convicted of killing her twin sister, before being murdered himself. Claiming to have clairvoyant abilities, she sees the truth after handling the glass eye. Forwarding a grotesque, life sized wooden figure of a man to her brother-in-law (he's a doctor at a local psychiatric hospital, where the alleged killer had been released) and his new girlfriend, she makes a visit.
While the identity of the actual villain is obvious, it was still a very enjoyable horror film.

My mom, my NT sister and I believe in the same opinion as many other people,
that this film should not have flopped the way it did back in 2012.

Agreed. I only wish my dad had lived to see the movie, as he was a huge fan of the John Carter books.

Game Of Death (2017) .... terrible terrible terrible movie to watch ... I'd recommend people to avoid it all cost. I wish I'd not watched it but luckily I turned it off 1/2 way through.

Pacific Rim: Uprising.

Sequel to the original. This time, the Kaiju invaders are growing inside the very Jaeger robots that had originally stopped them. Surprisingly good movie.

I'm watching a movie called Fall on tubi tv. There are two young ladies stuck on top of a 2,000 foot tv tower.

Image

Edit: Just finished. There are some things about the movie that are just plain stupid.
