Den ståndaktige kyrkoherden / The Lustful Vicar (1970)

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9JX46BTihhs

A rather cute movie. Most of the men of a village have gone off to fight in the Napoleonic war. Into town comes a new vicar, upon whom a witch has cast a spell to cause a priapism.

Cornelis Vreeswijk appears in the film as a troubadour.

Another good Science Fiction thriller in the The Chronicles of Riddick franchise.

More of the same.

We will want to see Riddick: Furya when it comes out.
Note: I said "good"...not "great".

Superman.

Superman with an emphasis on his human upbringing. Emphasis on his human rather than godlike attributes. Ver funny.

Superman.

This new Superman movie is played more tongue in cheek, with a whole new cast, but still tied to the existing DC universe (Peacemaker appears in an interview bad mouthing Superman). The Man of Steel has much more in common with his alter ego, Clark Kent, in that he isn't perfect, and can stumble like a human being.
While I didn't have a problem with the previous Superman, this was enjoyable.

Tevya, 1939

A precursor to Fiddler on the Roof.

Last night we watched:

The Batman [2022]
<=>"You are a part of this too. Find out why."

We both liked it.

We both liked it.RECOMMENDED

Until we watched it I did not know what to expect. Would it be shallow or would it have depth?

Good news: It has the dark, deep, polished look-and-feel that "fits" Batman.

Problem: My bride discovered the disk case on the coffee table in front of the TV, mixed in with all of the other stuff there. It seems likely it has been there for quite a long time and we weren't aware of it. Neither of us remembers buying it. Um...sort of fits the film!

A very good movie. Two Jewish boys run away from a train carrying them to concentration camps. One of the writers, Arnošt Lustig, actually did escape from a train taking him from one concentration to another.

I watched as much of 50 Shades of Grey as I could stand. It was overhyped a few years ago, and I wanted to see what the fuss was about. It is full of the standard chick-flick clichés (average woman is courted by a supremely handsome billionaire). When he was buckling her into to the seat on his private helicopter, that was enough for me. I fast-forwarded to the sex scenes, and was unimpressed.

Cactus Flower (1969), starring Walter Matthau, Ingrid Bergman, and Goldie Hawn.

Ah, the swinging sixties.

I highly recommend it. A delightful comedy. I think that this might have been Goldie Hawn's first major role.

Miracle Mile - 1988. A combination nuclear apocalypse and rom com flick that bombed at the box office but has since become a cult film. Anthony Edwards pre ER as the male lead.
