Ghost Stories (2017)
stream from Tubi TV

Ghost Stories: IMDB wrote:
After receiving a file with details of three unexplained cases of apparitions, skeptical professor Phillip Goodman embarks on a terrifying trip.
Goosebumps. Lots and lots of goosebumps.
And some effective jump scares.
But good goosebumps displays an understanding for the "what was that?" scary."

Followed by
Zombie Strippers! (2008)
also on Tubi TV
Zombie Strippers!: IMDB wrote:
A zombie epidemic spreads throughout a strip club in Nebraska.
I did not think I would care for this film. It was pretty much as I expected. Shallow testosterone driving "horror comedy". It is like Beavis and Butthead made a movie.
This is just my opinion, but I cannot recommend the film to anyone, living or dead.
Why did I watch it? I hoped it would prove me wrong, and I thought the title was such a cliché. It was the one thing that made me laugh.

Massimo Troisi and Roberto Benigni enter a time portal and are transported to the Renaissance, the era of Leonardo da Vinci, Michelangelo, and Raffaèllo Sanzio. The dialogues are very funny.

They propose the invention of the train to Leonardo da Vinci (in 1492!), and he actually designs and builds it.
At the end of the film, Benigni and Troisi see the finished train.
Then he tells them 33, 3% to each of us for the patent.

From minute 34:20 to the end at minute 37.

(The post is short, I hope)

Rifftrax: Vengeance of the Dead (2001)
watched on the Rifftrax channel on Pluto TV

The riffing was a par with other riffed Rifftrax movies.

Rifftrax: Vengeance of the Dead: IMDB wrote:
Vengeance of the dead is the bone-chilling tale of a young man visiting his grandpa, and several other grandpa's

The movie itself, I sometimes substitute the word "weird" with "interesting" because weird as negative connotations.
Vengeance of the Dead: IMDB wrote:
While spending time visiting his grandfather in the small town called Harvest, Eric starts having some strange experiences. Young Julia befriends him, though she appears to be a ghost, as is her mother, who is not as friendly.
This movie was interesting, but then it was weird. Granted, I very likely missed some details because I was playing World of Warcraft while watching.
Interesting: the story is told in lots of dreamlike sequence.
Weird: the ghost girlfriend is peeped on by the grandson's grandfather, or someone's grandfather. So I thought there was incest going on, and then the grandson jumps on her while they are on a dream picnic. Again, it had the weird sensation of incest. The guys riffed something to the effect of "his fraternity influence taking over."
Applause that Don Adams and Harry James Picardi were able to write, direct, and finish a film. I have not found much information about these guys, other than they wear a "lot of hats" such as editor, writer, director, actor, music, producer, sound, and "thanks."

This was a direct to video release.

Next up!
Rifftrax: Frozen Scream (1975)
Kevin Murphy riffed - "This is like Ingmar Bergman directed a porno"
Everyone is dubbed. Some are not dubbed in some scenes, but are in other scenes. Sometimes it appears someone dubbed an actor in one scene, or even the next shot, someone else dubbed the same actor.
I think it is German.

Frozen Scream: Trivia: IMDB wrote:
One of the original 72 Video Nasties. It was banned but never prosecuted.
Interesting, and I mean interesting.
Maybe I'll finish it. I own both riffed films and I could watch them anytime, but Pluto TV is more random, at least for a day or two.

--- Much Later ---
Rifftrax: Night of the Living Dead (1968)
A quality movie with some quality riffing. I can enjoy both.
Is there a pattern on the Rifftrax channel?

Last night I watched:

Zombie Strippers! [2008]
<=>"Live Dead Nudes"

Yeah...I agree it would be wrong to recommend the film.
- It is not an A-movie, or a B-movie...it is much further up the alphabet than that
- It is not a serious film, and the folk making the movie didn't take it seriously

But, I admit I kind of enjoy the film.

I'm getting ready to watch Martin Luther

I believe that this is the one that they showed at church a couple of evenings when I was a kid. I remember watching it from the front row of the choir loft so that I could see over everybody's heads.

Weapons (2025)
on HBO Max

I felt this was a good movie.
It is part of the scary genre movies.
There is lots of property damage, but not on a Godzilla level, and there it some disturbing imagery and blood.

I thought I saw someone else here had watched the movie too, but I failed to find it, or go back far enough.
(my timer went off and my food is read.)

Going even further up the alphabet, I watched:

Zombies Vs. Strippers [2012]
<=>"They want to strip your flesh!"

I cannot recommend this one, either.

And, I'll concede this film is not as professional and polished as Zombie Strippers! 8O

 But I enjoyed both

Finally watched James Gunn's Superman movie. It was fun. Reminded me of a live action Saturday morning cartoon. The plot wasn't that strong and lots of things not explained well. Like I said, it was fun, but I thought Man of Steel was a much better movie.
