Rifftrax
Moon of the Wolf

1972 TV movie. It is about a werewolf so I know I watched it when I was twelve or thirteen. I don't remember it though.
It has a slew of actors that were well known back then. David Jansen, Bradford Dillman, Barbara Rush, Royal Dano.
Bradford Dillman always reminds me of Ted Bundy, or rather the other way around.
Royal Dano is an actor I hope I can remember his name, because I've seen him in so many films and on television and never bothered to learn his name. It's possible you have seen him. He does not look like a Royal.
Barbara Rush is has also been loads of films and appearances of television.
All of that aside...

Ian Potter and Matthew J. Elliott are the riffers, and they are very good. I'm sure it is partially their British accents.
The title appears on the screen, MOON OF THE WOLF. One of them immediately says, "I want to see proof of ownership." It is a comment that fits their style. "Mmm. Being on fire seems to disagree with him."

The werewolf looks a bit like William Atherton (Ghostbusters, Die Hard) with a beard.

William Atherton - Walter Peck? or Werewolf?

Recently I watched a couple of zombie films ( ①  and  ② ) and then, even more recently, I learned of the death of June Lockhart, an actress likely known of by anyone who watched much TV in the 60's and 70's.

Naturally, I then watched:

Zombie Hamlet [2012]
<=>"A Comedy of Errors!"

A zombie film film with a cast that includes June Lockhart (I hope that she'd forgive me for mentioning that) and possibly a few other actors whose names you'd recognize (she, however, is the only walking dead in it)!

It is a fun film!

I saw June Lockhart had died. I remember from several television shows from the 1960s and 1970s, as you mentioned.

Zombie Hamlet. This sounds like another sports metaphoric home run.

Housebound (2014)

There are parts of this film that I thought I'd seen before, but if I did, I don't remember when that was.
I enjoyed it.
The ending was explosive.

The Innkeepers (2011)

I enjoyed this movie as well. A haunted inn. Also, I realized I've seen it before. I don't remember details. I just recognized scenes as I watched them. I didn't remember how it ended.
This is exactly how it literally end.
The camera glides down the hallway, slowly. Music is playing. It reminds me of something from The Shining. It goes to the last room on the right. It pans into the room, stopping at the doorway.
The shot holds with a view of the bed and side table (???)
The shot holds. The music is calming. It slowly fades to silence.
Anyone care to guess what happens next?
I'll tell you. This is the classic jump scare, or Lewton Bus effect. Quiet. Draw the attention in. More quiet... quiet... quiet... JUMP SCARE!
In my opinion, and just my opinion, Jump Scares are the pratfalls of horror.

It seemed unfair to June Lockhart to mention her only in my most recent post in a conversation about zombie films, a post about a zombie film film she was in that was released when she was 86...which I will guess she did mostly for fun. So, with my bride, I then watched a film starring June Lockhart when she was about 21:

She-Wolf of London [1946]
<=>"A woman whose hatred knew no bounds!"

What in the world is wrong with me? June Lockhart was the She-Wolf of London? I am shocked I did not know that from the last 54 years! I even have it as part of my Lon Chaney (Jr) Wolfman collection. This goes on the list of things to watch tomorrow. Maybe just watch everything in the set.

The House of the Devil (2009)
I'm sure I've seen this film before, likely just once. I mentioned I'd seen it in another thread, but then I realized it starts a bit like The Boy. Woman arrives at a house. The husband and wife are leaving for the evening. But this is a sitter, not a nanny. And she is suppose to be monitoring an old woman. Both movies are good.

Was not happy when Gerta Gerwig's character is killed, but I don't think her character was going to drive the story along. So... It was not pleasant though.

I think the movie is ok if you are a fan of Springsteen. For people in general I don't know. It's mostly about Bruce spending time on his own feeling depressed.

The Substance.

An aging aerobics TV star is dropped by the producers of her show, when she's contacted to take part in a mysterious clinical test for a product that allows her to live a week as a newer, younger self, then another as herself. Eventually, her younger, better self detrimentally takes more and more time for herself, replacing her the the star of her show. But this turns out to have horrific medical effects.
First rate body horror film.

Last night we watched:

Zombeavers [2014]
<=>"You'll all be dammed!"

We both recommend you avoid it.
