The Ugly Stepsister.

Retelling of the Cinderella story from the perspective of one of the sisters.
While not in English, anyone familiar with the fairy tale can follow the story closely enough.

Nosferatu.

One of my Christmas presents. Robert Eggers' remake of the classic German horror movie. Truly chilling, and highly recommended.

Is this the shot for shot remake? Don't answer. I know how to press buttons and look it up. :)
...
the answer is no. I've seen both. Hope you had a good holiday.

Olsen Gangs big coup (1972)

The gang goes up against The King & The Jack , 4 mill krones on the line

Crime comedy........give it 4.5/6

I prefer norwegian version : Olsen Gang meets The King & The Jack.....each version has few different scenes

RiffTrax:Kingdom of the Spiders (1977)
Streamed from Pluto TV

The movie was okay. I would not say it was a bad film. No complaints about William Shatner. I thought it was entertaining.
The Riffs were more about building off dialog and action, and leading the story or situation in another humorous direction.

The Virgin Suicides (1999)

IMDN Description wrote:
A group of male friends become obsessed with five mysterious sisters who are sheltered by their strict, religious parents in suburban Detroit in the mid 1970s.

The mother is especially flippin' strict. I had to remind myself Kathleen Turner is not really like this (I hope).
It was a good, somber story. Sofia Coppola wrote and made a film and I found it enjoyable. Somber can be enjoyable.

If suicide is a trigger, I would not recommend this. Now I have The Beatles She's Leaving Home stuck in my head, and it wasn't even in the movie. Neither was Look on Down the Bridge by Mazzy Star, but there was a YouTube video featuring that song, and scenes from this movie. That's what led me to the movie.

Last night we watched:

After the Thin Man [1936]
<=>"Mr. and Mrs. Thin Man Are Back In Their New Hit"

More excellence!

Last night we watched:

Another Thin Man [1939]
<=>"Their Merriest Hit! Mr. and Mrs. Thin Man Have a B-A-B-Y!"

Another excellent film in the Thin Man set.

And astute viewers might notice one of the Three Stooges has an uncredited role.

Last night we watched:

Shadow of the Thin Man [1941]
<=>"FUNNIER THAN EVER in their first new laugh-thriller in 2 years!"

Another good Thin Man movie.

Last night we watched:

The Thin Man Goes Home [1944]
<=>"Together again in M-G-M's riotous comedy."

Hmmm... The Thin Man and his bride visit his home town...without their son!

Last night we watched:

Song of the Thin Man [1947]
<=>"WILLIAM POWELL and MYRNA LOY and me too.
<=+=+=+=>We're all together again in a NEW MGM mystery comedy!"
<=+=+=+=+=+=>['me too' refers to their (Nick & Noras') dog in the film]

This is the sixth and final Thin Man film. We'd gladly have watched more of them.

During my absence, I watched The Life of Chuck

It's from a Stephen king novella but it's not a scary one but it's really good and so easy to watch

I'd recommend giving it a go if you've got a spare couple of hours

I found it on Netflix

I read the short stories it was based on.
