Drive Angry, starring Mr. Nicolas Cage. I wanted to be amused by this farce, since I enjoy a dumb action movie as much as anyone (Shoot 'Em Up, The Transporter, so on). But the truth is, it's sad to watch this once-promising actor bury his career one terrible movie at a time.

Last night, I watched Weird Science with my family.
It was on TV.

Even though this is an 80s movie, it was quite funny.

The other night, we caught She Freak on TCM (I think). This absolutely has to be the worst movie ever made! I mean, it makes Plan Nine From Outer Space look like Citizen Kane! And to make things worse, they stole the ending from Todd Browning's far superior movie, Freaks. If you see this movie coming on, don't walk to change the channel on the remote - RUN!

The Thing.

It was really creepy, the special effects were fantastic considering this film was made in the 80s.

I've been to see "The Iron Lady" tonight.

It was good, but definitely not suited for 6-year-olds. ^^

I watched the Descendants last night. Over-hyped oscar bait imo.

I saw Chronicle a few weeks back. I enjoyed it personally.

"It's a Mad, Mad, Mad, Mad World" - Had never seen this one before. Not my kind of thing, but entertaining anyway.

The following are things I've seen more than once, but it was nice to re-watch them.

"2001: A Space Odyssey" - Works really well if you crank up the volume in the opening.
"Citizen Kane" - Remains a highly entertaining film.
"Faces" - I think I'd be happier if a lot of the improv style of the film were trimmed down, but still, it's quite a good film.
"Mary and Max" - Still don't really like the ending, but on the whole, it's a good film.

Yesterday, I saw the new
Duplass Brothers movie Jeff, Who Lives at Home.

Somewhat predictable, a little corny, but overall a good movie.

Has anybody ever seen Repulsion before? I think I'd go that crazy if I became extremely agoraphobic and stopped my medication cold turkey.

I've seen it. Didn't like it much. While it had some nice stylistic elements, I got the distinct impression that Polanski had no idea what he was doing when he made the film. I forget the specifics but there is some behind the scenes material on the DVD where Polanski is directing Catherine Deneuve and the stuff he is saying sounds exactly like what I say when I don't know what I'm talking about and am stalling for time. :)

Paris, Texas (1984)

I still like The American Friend the most, but these other Wim Wenders movies I've been checking out aren't bad. Aside from how dreadfully slow they are – I thought Friend was slow, but it's Run Lola Run compared to Wings of Desire and Paris, Texas.

Payback. I've seen it several times before, but it's always fun to watch again. Ah, Mel. I miss the days when you made good movies and didn't flaunt your insanity in public.
