Shaun of the Dead.

British horror zombie comedy. Pretty good.

The Dark Knight
Pretty shallow, even compared to the other two. I don't know why everyone is eating this up, it only seems deep to most because it's easy to connect.

gregoire moulin versus the world. i did not like it at all. it was disgusting. jokes about domestic violence were made casually, the women were attracted to the men based on how abusive they were, men are portrayed as mindless beings and rape was used as a comedic device. rape! like this man and a woman tried to have sex with a guy against his wishes, they sexually assult him and the man chases the main character all over the city, rapes a man he thinks is the main character whilst he is bound, jokes about silence being consent afterwards and then continues to try do the same to the main character. how was this funny?! it was vile! they joked about rape! what the hell!? awful awful awful awful.

I saw that one and it sucked IMO

last movie I watched Temple Grandin.

Yeah, I saw it as well. It was pretty lame. My boyfriend wanted to watch it because he likes exorcism movies.

Lost Girl. Today I have been watching clips of Temple Grandin the movie. I think they did a really good job with that movie.

Cool Hand Luke

Prison Drama film. Paul Newman's memorable character Luke Jackson refused to submit. I hated the heartless sadistic Captain.

2001: A Space Odyssey (1968)

Three bucks at Wal-Mart. Can't pass that up.

I can't remember how many times I'd seen it before, but it still hasn't gotten old. It's amazing that such a slow and ponderous movie isn't boring at all.

Kubrick was a genius. He supervised all the special effects on that movie. I have never read the book. It is on my very long list of books I have to get to reading. I have read some of Clarke's essays and they were fantastic.

The book is good, but it's almost redundant because it's so similar to the film and yet not as good. Dave shutting down HAL just isn't the same without the film's sound: Dave's breathing, HAL's monotone pleading, and the utter silence in between them. And this is just one example of many; again and again, as I read the book I felt like I was reading a screenplay, and was wishing that I was watching the film instead. Clarke simply didn't have Kubrick's style. It's also unfortunate that the book clearly spells out the themes that the film is more ambiguous about. Check it out if you're curious, but don't expect to be blown away.

Very funny!

Thanks for the tip. I like it when the book is differant from the movie. More indepth. Some movies are completely differant beasts than the book.
