Harry Potter and TPoA was indeed a fav.

Alan Rickman playing Snape is one of the best parts about it. I think they could have done a better job on Black though.

Mean Girls ruled, awesome movie.

I think "The Punisher" was y favorite action movie and "Resident Evil: Apocoyipse" (yes, I know I spelled that wrong.) was my favorite sequal.

I think that Garden State would have to be one of my favorites of this year. I also liked Harry Potter 3, National Treasure, Eternal Sunshine, and I know there are more but I don't actually know if they are from 2004 or not.

Oh, by the way, I did see Thirteen and I watched it with my mom. I liked it, but my mom hated it because it's one of those movies where if you're a mom, it's a movie that makes you really worried about what your child might get into (this is just my mom's opinion). (I hope this made sense)

It would have been better in my eyes and therefore higher on my list, had they done a little more cool stuff with that supermutant, in other words used him better. It was too short and given the attributes that he was implied to have, it would have been nice to have seen it or more. I had the same problem with both X-men movies, but X-2 was worse because they should have improved it by then. X-2 came off as virtually the same movie as the first, more good guys, fewer bad guys, more poor use of abilities, more stupid scenes (as if anyone with extra healing power would stand by for several minutes and not struggle at all to extricate themselves from a potentially deadly situations, the end of that Deathstrike/Wolverine bout was so unrealistic as a fights go and dissappointing, its as if they had to something as bad or worse as the lame "Toad" line for Storm at the statue in Xmen one).

I hope they spit into teams more (like in the comics/cartoons) in X-3, if there is one, so their powers will be put to better use w/o the filmmakers forgetting they have them like in Xmen and X-2 (I have yet to Storm or Rogue fly, and does Rogue's physical appearance and character (not powers) more closely resemble that of Jubilee. I would also like to see Apocalypse, Jagurnaught, Mr. Sinister, Soron, and equal or more bad guys to the good guys for a change, make believe the bad guys at least have a chance, being so badly outnumbered in the first two kind of took the fire out of threat potential some.

ya know, what would be cool, if the X-men and The Punisher teamed up for a movie.

I just rented Napoleon Dynamite on DVD. That movie was so hilarious! We could hardly stop laughing the entire time. I think Napoleon has severe AS. If you haven't seen it, I highly recommend it.

On friday, i came to school wearing boots, faded blue jeans, and a white t-shirt with a "class of 2005" logo on the front and my classmates signatures emblazoned on the back (the 8th grade class shirt). a good friend of mine told me that, if i tucked my shirt in and tucked my pants legs under my boots, i would look just like Napoleon Dynamite. I did so and me, him, and Jessie (his friend and my crush) all laughed about it. I think i really did look like ND when i looked in the washroom mirror.

Napoleon Dynamite is the worse movie I've ever seen, though, I dispise the majority of comedy's so... The only four comedys that I liked where Shrek 2, AVP, Dawn of the Dead, and the Punisher.

For Harry Potter, I did not like part one much, because of the crappy ending. That bad guy dude was supposed to be powerful, but at the end he used no magic to defend himself and was defeated way too easily by Harry. Part 2 was better, I think it was better than 3, at least the ending, but the first half or so of 3 was better than 2. Is 4 going to be any better?

Epimonandas, I agree with you about the first movie (Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone). I LOVED the third one, but they left too much out about James Potter (Harry's dad), Sirius Black, Remus Lupin, Peter Pettigrew, and how they were involved with the Marauder's Map. Because they left this information out, the part where Harry thinks he sees his dad doesn't make sense. Have you read the books?

But, yes, the fourth one should be even better. The ending of the fourth is an important turning point in the series. I think filming has been completed. It was recently announced that the trailer should be out this spring. Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire comes out 18th of November. They also have a director for the fifth film already.

For anyone who is interested, the best sites (I go to them every day) for new information and updates regarding Harry Potter are http://www.mugglenet.com and http://www.the-leaky-cauldron.org.

I heard a rumor recently that the same actors are not going to be in the 4th movie, but maybe in the 5th movie. Do you know if there is any truth to that?

Sorry Bec, I have not read Harry Potter, I just saw the movies. I have read many other books. Fatherland by Robert Harris, Romance of the Three Kingdoms by Luo Guangzhong (my favorite book so far) both Moss Roberts' translations and C.H. Brewitt Taylor's translation (Moss' is better), Outlaws of the Marsh, Threshold by Ben Mezzrich(a medical thriller), The Way Station by Simank, Many Perry Mason books, Parts one and two of Edgar Rice Burroughs' Tarzan (I love the part where Tarzan was a spy for a time, that was so interesting and I never saw that in any Tarzan movie, he was also very intelligent, another miss), Howard Pyle's Robin Hood, The Plant People (this was the first book I ever remember reading on my own that was not a kiddie book or at least a toddler kiddie book), Lord of the Rings, Isle of The Dead by Roger Zelazny, Homer's The Illiad, several Choose your own adventure books, Out of the Silent Planet C.S.Lewis, Cellini's Autobiography, Black Magic, Green Team by Richard Marcinko, I used to read many Hardy boys and Alfred Hitchcock Three Investigators' books and many more. This is just a short list of ones I can think of at the moment.

No, the same actors will be in the fourth one. The kids aren't officialy signed on for the fifth one yet, but it is pretty certain that they will be back for that one too. Seeing as the sixth book will be out this July, I have a feeling that if they sign on for the fifth movie, they will probably do six and seven as well.

That's quite a list of books. I have never read Lord of the Rings (and I have only seen the first movie and the very end of the second) but I have a friend who loves LotR as much as I love HP (so I've heard A LOT about it). Are the books good? I have never heard of Alfred Hitchcock books, but I LOVE his movies!

I'll be sad if Emma dosen't comeback for the other movies, she is already one of my favorite actress's. I see great things in her future.

EDIT: Bec, do you know when the next movie is comin' out?

I can't think of a truly great film I saw this year.... tricky one that.....

I'd go with "Spider-Man 2" off the top of my head (certainly as the best blockbuster I can think of at the mo') and "The Incredibles" (as the best film overall), and probably "Thunderbirds" as the worst (how on earth could anyone have so spectacularly blown such a sure thing as a Thunderbirds film  )

I was actually quite surprised that the 3rd "Harry Potter" film wasn't completely terrible like the first 2 were - I even quite enjoyed it 8O

LOTR, they were pretty good, but like the movie the last book is best. The end of the second one is pretty boring and slow reading. I don't think Hitchcock wrote the books, it was more like Hitchcock presents series. There were horror/thriller stories and the The Three Investigators series, I read some of both, I had an aunt who gave me a bunch of these books, new reprints.

Regarding HP, the rumor said something about them being too old for part 4 but not for part 5. It was a rumor it could be wrong.

List of books...Yeah! I read quite a lot. I can read 4 or 5 books in quick succession then get bored of reading or not able to pick something, then several months later, I will go on another reading splurge.
