This film has got so much hype and soooo much to live up too! That it's destined to be a disappointment

Walking into it with an attitude like that will almost certainly guarantee your disappointment no matter how the movie really is.
I suggest you don't even bother seeing it.

BTW: What hype? I was unaware this movie is being hyped any more than any other movie.

Nope, it's the complete opposite my friend. If I walk into the theater thinking this is going to be the Epic Aliens prequel movie that I and all the other millions of Aliens fans want it to be then I will most probably be disappointed, just being realistic, I've learned my lesson from expecting too much from prequels and reboots i.e the Star Wars prequels, alien vs predator, Rambo, Superman reboot, Rocky etc.

What hype? What Hype!!?? Are you kidding me? You are obviously not an Aliens or scifi fan otherwise you would realize what is expected of this film

I consider fan hype & studio hype to be different.
Fans can hype all they want, that just shows that whatever movie has a strong following.
If it's studio hype, I see that as an artificial pumping up of that movie, a red flag to me.

Of course, I have no social life and I don't watch any TV, so I am oblivious to any hype at all.
All the "hype" I've seen is this thread.

Anyway, after the AVP movies & alien resurrection, anything would be an improvement.

And I do happen to be a big alien fan. I do really enjoy sci-fi, but I wouldn't call myself a follower of all things sci-fi.

Yeah i don't take any notice of studio hype I see that all the time with movie and games. It's fan hype that sets them up for disappointment as they expect nothing less than Epic

The Alien franchise has such a long history of a cult following and they are expecting another Alien classic. I can't remember such high expectations for a movie as Prometheus, with the exception of The Phantom Menace ( but we best not go there)

Having said all that the Prometheus trailer does look pretty epic so fingers crossed :D

I'm so glad Ridley Scott is doing sci-fi again...

Anybody miss Peter Weyland's TED talk from 2023?
