It's the least funny sitcom I still enjoy watching. Too many easy and predictable jokes, but for every joke like that there is a good one imo.
There are just better sitcoms out there.

There are things I don't like about the show but it is still a favorite for me. What other sitcoms are better? I could use some good humor.

I suggest you to try Arrested Development, Scrubs, The IT Crowd (UK), Spaced (UK), Black Books (UK), Extras (UK), The Office (UK), How Not to Live Your Life (UK)... and Kaamelott if you speak French

It's Always Sunny In Philadelphia, and Workaholics are both hilarious and absolutely twisted.

Ick....why did you have to tell me that?

I prefer NOT to know the real life stories of the actors portraying a character...it just ruins the illusion of the character for me.

I'd have never have guessed he was 40.

I had my suspicions. The average actor is what....30-35 when they play someone relatively young? The change in his hair and the bit of pot belly made me realize the actor was aging. Penny is starting to look too old to play the part. I suspect this may be the last season now that Raj has a "girlfriend" of sorts. Certainly next will be the last...if they don't want the show to end painfully.

Are you aware that Chuck Lorre is involved? He extended two and a half men through 10 seasons, substituting the main actor. TBBT will have a slow and painful death. :(

why does it matter? why is age taken into account when someone critiques a performance?.
why does a person feel disappointed when someone who's ideas they admire reveals their age?
i have no idea. in 150 years time all of us will be dead, and we will all be equal then.

Because he looks like he's in his mid twenties.

Exactly, and sadly, makeup can only cover up so much. People with "young faces" may always look younger than their age, but when they cross certain thresholds, there are significant changes that give them away.

Currently its been extended through the 2013-2014 TV season so there's at least one more season of it. That, plus the fact that so far this season the show has gotten its best ratings so far and its currently, i think, the number 3 show on TV by ratings, its probably not going anywhere any time soon unless the ratings completely tank next year or the writers simply run out of ideas.

Frankly, I see them already running out of ideas. This season (while it has its laughs) is nowhere near as good as perhaps Season 2 or 3. They are pushing character/relationship development. That tells me they want to build to a point of closure...just in case.

Doe anyone else anticipate Penny's career taking off, and new problems arising from that? So far much of the stress in that relationship has had to do with her insecurity (about her mind, her education, and her station in life). Perhaps she will rise above her present lowly waitress status, but the glitz and glamor of Hollywood will divert her attention from the relationship.

One of the few criticisms I have of the show is that Penny is so vacuous and intellectually shallow, when the writers could have take the route of emphasizing her artistic talent and intelligence as an actress, which could be a foil for the male character's scientific acumen.
Still, I do see the merit of having a regular, NTish character clashing with Sheldon, and the apparently less Aspie Leonard.
