A Serious Man

I'm a fan of the Coen Brothers, but this was a BIG disappointment.

I actually liked A Serious Man. I thought it was a thoughtful meditation on masculinity and the Jewish experience, and I liked how much inspiration it drew from the stories of David and Job.

The movie I hate most is Away We Go. It's a film without conflict in which two faultless characters glide through a cross country road trip and learn nothing except that they are better than all their friends.

Bio-Dome is an awful movie that's just awful. Anyone not looking for examples of how to cram as many derp moments as possible into a feature film, should stay the f*ck away from this movie.

Poltergeist III. The second one, yes, but the third one was completely unnecessary. I mean, Carol Anne's parents sending her away? Not to mention it was open-ended for a sequel that never happened.

Yeah, the main problem is that they didn't offically have Jason. It was just someone who had the same motivation as Pamela Voorhees using Jason as a cover-up.

Same thing with Halloween III: Season of the Witch. No Michael Myers. It was an attempt to take the franchise in a new direction. When this failed, they went back to Michael.

I remember seeing Poltergeist III in the theater when it first came out with a bunch of friends. One friend and I - both three sheets to the wind, as I recall - sat through the movie saying very loudly and repeatedly, "This sucks!"

I really like Halloween 3. It doesn't make sense within the franchise, because after two Michael Myers films it was too late to turn it into an anthology series, but Season of the Witch is still a lot of fun when viewed by itself.

Don't get me wrong, it's a bad movie, but it's story of deadlyHalloween masks and the drunken, sex addicted doctor who tries to stop them is hilariously bad rather than just bad.

The effects are also pretty good, like when that woman gets a laser to the face.

Also, you have to laugh at the fact that the film doesn't even feature a witch.

All the Scary Movie films. Good for film references, but not much else.

Actually, there was I think an attempted tie-in with Donald Pleasance' last movie, where it's revealed that modern day Druids were controlling Michael Myers. It was one of the more forgettable sequels called (I think) the Curse Of Michael Myers. It did feature the two kids who Jaimie Lee Curtis was baby sitting in the first movie all grown up, and as the main characters, which was interesting.

Halloween 3 was very sinister but didn't make a lot of sense. From what I remember they were planning to turn all the kids into zombies or something hideous by wearing masks and watching the Silver Shamrock jingle on Halloween night. It is watchable but bizarre.

Yes, but if you recall, the villain who ran the company making the masks was actually a Neo-Druid.

I hate plots like that--making "Druids" or other such groups automatically "evil."

I never saw that one but all I heard was Goku is in high school and he can't get Chi Chi to like him and he was also Piccolo's slave. I'm already reading the Android Saga in the manga. Evolution doesn't tie-in anywhere. The other DB/DBZ movies were probably non-canon but they were animated traditionally and Evolution being Live Action kills its own potential and the plot sucks even more.

I thought the first two Scary Movie films were hilarious, but IMO, the franchise should have stopped after the release of Scary Movie 3. However, all parody films released since are dumb and not at all funny.

I saw it on HBO once, didn't laugh once and never looked back. Just stupid.

Two words: The Room. If you haven't seen it already, do. I promise you won't be disappointed.

Also, Crossroads starring Britney Spears. I saw it in theaters when it first came out (around 2001-ish), and even my middle-school self thought it was god-awful.
