My grandma pronounces it the same way, she finds the regular pronounciation offensive. You know, like ass-burgers. Apparently she doesn't want to anyone to think her granddaughter has a swear word syndrome.

The good thing is that she's not only there "to represent people with AS", but she can actually model, and she registers soo well on camera. She's not getting "pity votes" or anything: she's proven she deserves to be there and has talent. She actually has a chance to win the thing.

Yep yep, it's pretty cool-- she's definitely one of the judges' favorites right now.

I tuned in to this season of ANTM last week and heard Tyra say "Aspergers" to Heather. I think it is nice to see an Aspie on the show. I hope she wins or at least makes it really far.

she looks really pretty. I wish her every success. The series has not aired here yet, we see them after they have ended in the US.

It is good that she is getting votes on her abilities and not just on pity.

They just had the makeover show this week, where they get the haircuts, and Heather's hair was hardly even touched. I think the dar hair and pale skin is beautiful, but I wonder if Tyra didn't want to mess with her hair because of her AS. I know I get treated like a time bomb at church because no one thinks I can handle stuff because I've got AS. I've never gotten angry or sad at church, so they have no reason to think that except that I told them about my AS. I wonder if that is happening with Heather. I hope not. BTW, wasn't Bianca's hair saga funny? I've learned my lesson about to much bleach/chemical treatments.

I'm surprised they didn't at least go with some long layers though.

Heather did very well in her first photo shoot. I'm rooting for her, but realize that she may have a challenge when it comes to the interviews, ad spots, and the go-sees that the model contestants have to undergo later in the cycle.

If you check out this link America's Next Top Model Discussion on Heather, you will see lots of posts on Heather from parents of Aspies and others on the spectrum.

someone should mention wrongplanet on that forum...

no they shouldnt that is not a forum for those on the autistic spectrum its for the CW channel on tv if someone mentions wrongplanet on there it may bring in alot of trolls

my bad, should not have mentioned anything about pity, that is not an issue here. I have to say that Heather is a talented young lady and she can go far.
