I agree with that but I think that a film has to work on its own merit. My favorite of the Harry Potter films is the third one, which is the least true to the source material but, in my opinion, works the best as a film. I wasn't comparing this film to the book at all--I don't really even remember the book all that clearly, since I haven't read a word of it for five years at least. I don't mind that they cut some of the book out. I understand that changes have to be made in order to make a good film. But the execution of all that didn't work for me in this case.
