Larval, I agree that The Wraith are a lot more powerful than the Goa'uld. on the other hand, the Ori are more powerful than both combined. But I don't know why it was so easy for SG1 to defeat them while they were building that giant stargate.
Because, at that point, the Ori couldn't challenge anyone in that galaxy directly. They could only do so through priors - and the one prior that they had nearby was undoubtably killed when the black hole reformed.
Ori were probably used to using their superpowers, and thus too arrogant to make use of self correcting technologies. Same arrogance the Goa'uld seem to have, by the way.

Although the Goa'uld are the classic stargate story so I'm kinda interested in anything related to the Goa'uld.
Orii are like the new version of the Goa'uld. They can even possess people and speak through them, though unlike the Goa'uld they don't need to.

Stargate Atlantis is getting to be a lot more exciting than Stargate SG1.
On another note, I can't believe Ricky D is no longer on the cast of SG1. It kinda isn't fun w/out him.
What are your predictions regarding the Ori?
Well, once the weapon works and the powers of the priors are negated, the Ori will move to attack the galaxy directly. And then there will be a debate among the Ascended in this galaxy on whether to fight back or just leave. Obviously a sizable force would decide to stay and fight (else Earth is just doomed), so we'll finally see ancient vs ancient (sort of) battles.
Meanwhile, the Ori's followers will attempt to attach the humans of Earth and having Baal around will make it that much harder to fight back.
So like a cosmic battle, fought on multiple planes of existence.
Just a guess though.
