Here's a peek at my isolated, virginal, undiagnosed past self, from about 1998.
This is a video I recorded on my then state-of-the-art Sharp three-CCD MiniDV camcorder (which was a semi-broken pain in the butt, and ended up being returned for a refund).
This is the raw video, complete with my several attempts at getting the words right. I think it would have helped if I had actually written a script, or at least thought about what I was going to say before going on camera...
They did play this video question on the show. I already knew the answer to my question, but thought it would be a good one for them to answer on-air. I don't have a copy of the on-air version on my computer. I think it's still on a videotape somewhere, or maybe it got taped over- who knows?

This video was made from a series of .jpg stills shot over the course of eleven and a half hours, with an ancient Kodak DC260 digital camera. This camera has a built-in interval timer. The interval between frames was 1 minute, so at the playback rate here of 30 frames per second, the "speed-up" is 1,800 times!
Recorded on December 12th, 2010, in the Adirondack Park town of Brantingham, New York.

We bought this used tandem in Reno, Nevada. It was made in the mid 1980s. It's of decent quality, with a chrome-moly frame and some aluminum components.

This is an early steam-powered traction engine, owned and operated by Willie Shepherd of Lookout, California.
The steam engine is a 5 horsepower, double-acting, single-cylinder.
Willie was 75 when this video was made, and still very active and able. He had amassed a collection of old tractors and other equipment, many of which he kept in good operating condition. He hosted an annual old iron show on his property.

This was a rather interesting experience, climbing the tall shaky ladder to repaint This Old House, in a suburb of Boston, MA.
This video was made from a set of 373 jpg images, which were shot with an ancient Kodak DC260 digital camera, then combined with VirtualDub into this video. Exposure interval was one minute (The shortest available in this camera's built-in interval timer).

"The Adirondack Motor Enthusiast Club (A.M.E.C.) Celebrates its 56th anniversary this year. We have also completed our 45th year of ice racing. A.M.E.C. Ice Racing is the safest and most inexpensive form of road racing available today. We race 6 classes of cars on approximately .75 to 1.9 mile road courses on frozen lakes in northeastern NY from mid January until early March."
