My enjoyment of Kawai Complex increases with each episode. The pace, the art, the weird humor, and the unique combination of characters all appeal to me a lot. The way it switches from cuteness to cynicism unexpectedly without devaluing either one takes a lot of skill in the writing, direction, and voice acting.

Yeah, Kawai Complex has been good. There is something quite good about her character that I can kind of connect with, and the recent progress was nice. And always something to bring a smile or laugh.

re: One Week Friends, Yamagishi-san is pretty cute, too. I don't know how I'd find someone like that in person, but I like her in the show.

I'm obsessed with Ghost in the Shell, though other than that I've only seen Death Note and Akira. ;^^

Those are all excellent examples of anime; might I humbly recommend Trigun for your viewing pleasure as well?

I never got a chance to watch Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood. It's supposed to follow the original manga storyline.

Why is Winry even in this series? Seems like every time she's on screen she's crying. Been at least 5 times now on episode 22.

Might as well add that I recently watched the dub of Good Luck Girl! (Binbougami Ga!), which is a hilarious anime about a girl who has an incredibly high amount of luck and is attacked by a god of misfortune to try keep the balance of luck. I had previously watched it subbed, and I was quite happy that the dub was pretty good, they gave Momiji a range of different accents for when she would change her character in a parody way. Makes me wonder why a sequel had not been announced as it is very funny, and the characters are very enjoyable: big boobed girl secretly lonely, a flat misfortune god with a wicked sense of humour (lazy too), masochist dogboy, manly fighter girl, and a black monk not above taking advantage of looking like a foreigner and his monk duties.

Also the OP and ED I think are some of the best, both being very good, super catchy.

I just finished both seasons of Dog Days for the second time. I like the mix of action and fanservice with the sweet story about relationships. I liked my favorite characters even more the second time around, and the ones I felt unsure about the first time really grew on me.

I've watched a few episodes of Tonari no Seki-kun: The Master of Killing Time, and it seems to hold my interest. It has a great ending theme, as well. Seki creates elaborate ways to fool around in class, distracting his neighbor from her studies. It has neat art, kind of retro character designs. Check it out if you like your comedy on the random side, although it doesn't achieve the epic randomness of some anime I've watched, such as Humanity Has Declined.

Another is a great mystery to watch when you know absolutely nothing but maybe the story talked about in the first episode, or really the description given on that page. Also I find the OP pretty cool.

Another is definetely an under-rated anime; great story. Definetely on my DVD-wishlist.

In the original anime, she doesn't really act the way she does in the manga. Brotherhood fixes that.

As for some really new anime, I bumped into Black Bullet on Crunchyroll while I was looking for something to watch. There's only five episodes out so far, but the series as a whole so far is pretty good.

I agree about Another, especially that you'll enjoy it more the less you know about it. It was a little gory, but not really gory by Japanese standards. I had a harder time watching Elfen Lied.

I just watched the first episode of Robot Girls Z, and I think I have the format figured out: goofiness and fanservice. Works for me! :jocolor: ETA: Only 3 episodes (well, 9 ten-minute segments compiled into 3 shows), so it didn't take long to finish.

Other than some niggles with Chris Ayres' disregard for ADR and mouth-flaps, From the New World still proves to be as intellectually-stimulating as it was watching it in Japanese.

Also... am I still the only one who watches anime not for fanservice/cutesy little girls/near-naked women...? Not that I'm throwing the accusation that everyone who watches anime here does. Yet it sure feels like I'm in the extreme minority, especially judging by some comments and some choices... (Sakura Trick, Black Bullet, Strike Witches, Black Lagoon...)
