This boulder had obviously spent many years trapped in a state of non-rolling. We decided to let gravity have its way with it.

The boulder is volcanic in origin, so rather lighter than is typical in this size. I had little trouble dislodging it, even with my scrawny body as the sole motivating force.

This is private property, so no gubmint-protected rocks were disturbed. The Federal Bureau Of Keeping Things On Top Of Other Things will be mollified, one can hope.

My meager efforts to clean out and upgrade the garage/workshop.

The camera is a Nikon 600 DSLR, mounted on a door frame with a clamped-on block of wood and a tripod head. I set the camera in timelapse mode, with an interval of 12 seconds. Exposure, white balance and focus were all manual. The 1080P 30FPS video file was created automatically by the camera. I then slowed the playback down to 1/4 speed in the computer to make what you see here.

The lens was a Rokinon-branded Samyang 8mm fisheye
Shutter speed was 1/25th second
ISO was 12,800
FX capture mode
1920x1080P 24FPS

This fisheye lens was meant for a "crop sensor"/DX camera. The permanent hood obscures part of the field of view when used on a full-frame/FX camera. I "shaved" the hood, using a technique described here:
