That'll be the title of Part 3.

Star Trek.

My daughter has developed an Aspieish interest in Star Trek, so my wife ordered the reboot movie, and we all watched it over dinner.

 I have been to see this twice now. I loved it both times.

Stoker (2013) - I remember having that same eerie feeling when watching the movie Psycho for the first time. Although Psycho was scary at first... This wasn't, but that twisted way behind the character was... well, the way it freaked me out. As some movie viewers refused to watch any further and walked out. Not for the faint of heart I guess. The lead character has this ability to hyper focus on her senses. I would watch it again this year if I happen to see it on TV.

True Grit

1969 John Wayne movie in which he plays a drunken U.S. Marshal who, along with a Texas Ranger, aids a young woman in searching for her father's killer.

Warm Bodies.

Horror/comedy version of Shakespeare's Romeo & Juliet, where Zombie boy falls in love with living girl. Basically fun.
As a side note, the emotionless, socially compromised (to say the least) zombies might be construed as Aspies learning how to socialize  .

Frankenstein: The True Story (1973)

A movie with some good writing and terrific performances (particularly from James Mason, who steals every scene) that suffers from being 19 million years long. It took me three days to get through this 185-minute behemoth, and I felt like punching someone when it was finally over.

I saw that movie, and it hardly follows the Marry Shelly novel.

Seeing Karl Urban playing pre-Doc McCoy is worth the price of the movie. He has the character nailed.

Quinto is not bad as Spock either. Zoe Zoldana is good at anyone she plays.

I am still amazed at how well Urban can mimic DeForest Kelly - from everything from the voice to his facial features and mannerisms.

I think maybe the concept was that this is the real story that inspired Shelley's novel (even though it's equally fictional), rather than any sort of claim that it's a faithful adaptation. But yes, it's less of an adaptation of the book and more of an amalgam of every previous major Frankenstein film. It's a shame that it's so ridiculously long; if a skilled editor could cut it down to 90 minutes, it would be one of the three or four best Frankenstein films ever made.

A theatrical screening of "The Room" I have never seen so many spoons on a floor before, I also left with a small football someone threw (for next year).
